It's one of the few webcomics that actually tries to use the "web" aspect of the format - fairly innovative presentation for a webcomic and flash sequences/minor interactivity are all really neat.

Homestuck was MLP before MLP was cool - SA/4chan meme gone mainstream, more or less.

It was actually kinda funny to see how large part of Homestuck fanbase on SA switched to MLP avatars while the show was airing.

I like to believe that, just maybe, he likes and cares about his western fanbase.

Beyond that, he is a huge westaboo. He also really likes New York.

He doesn't go alone though, he goes with several other doujin artists, like Rodney, Hamamoto, and some other guys. It's technically not even his booth, that's why he isn't listed in the attendee roster.
He linked a comic on his twitter that one of the artists drew about their time in New York this year. It showed the stuff they bought from NYCC and the sights they visited. bkub and some other guy took like 50 pictures of squirrels in Central Park for some reason too.

The theme songs were nice, we've had some good drawings, Dandelion Girl was decent, some current projects are progressing along nicely. We've took part in a few translations and I think /jp/ is a big part of the Western visual novel and Touhou fanbase.
That said, we haven't had anything like a Dan Kim thread for a while. Not that those were the bastion of quality original content (to be honest, I was never too big on Dan Kim) but I think that's the sort of thing we should be aiming for. It really should not have taken five years, but the fact they published a finished product was pretty exciting. I'm a little sceptical of OELVNs in general though, because they take things in a direction I don't like. Also, I don't think he'll ever sell his games digitally, whether it be on his own site using a download ticket system, on Steam, or whatever. Something ZUN-ish I could imagine would be for him to change a variable, recompile the games and sell them as a bundle at a specific event, with a bonus CD or a comic, or perhaps the other way around.
This is why modern computer games bug me. His PC-98 games will emulate perfectly to the end of time. The Windows games will stop working and nobody is ever going to be able to write a complete reimplementation of the necessary libraries (though the games do run fine in Wine). Also, "recently"? The Complete Calvin and Hobbes collection was released back in 2005. Anywho, I never got that since I had all of his comics from previous releases, and $100 is pretty steep for a bit of bonus content.
