I have a question for you today, /jp/.

Have you played a game that changed the way you thought about life, and if so, what?

Katawa Shoujo.

The Emi route made me want to be more active and healthier. So far I've kept to my promise to my waifu.

It made me stop drinking and doing drugs. It also made me take life more seriously. Now everyday I strive to do my best for my loved ones. I'm dating muslim girl right now. She is very different from other sluts I fucked in past. I hope we will be together forever.

The World Ends With You.

The game briefly broke me outta depression. I need a refresher course.

It was so deep but simple in it's explanation, like when they were talking about how your mind is a garden and you have to let people in it or how you limit your world's horizon. If you want to have a better world, a bigger world, a happier world you have to do it. Because your world ends with you.

Just talking about it is inspiring me, and that's after having worked black friday at Wal-Mart.

The Yakuza games made me realize that the only thing I care about in life is moving to Japan and joining the Yakuza family.

Someday I'll do it.

Tokyo Jungle made me appreciate our modern life and how easily things could end in an instant if we were simple animals.

Okay I'm all for following your dreams, and the first part is entirely possible but.... A gaijin? Getting in the Yakuza?

Man... maybe they'd take you in just because the amount of balls you'd have to have to even think about doing that.

Saya no Uta along with Elfen lied (though the second one is a manga) changed the way in which I perceive life. Not my own life, but life itself. It helped me taking a nihilistic stance and understanding the silliness of overestimating humans that most people share.

>> No.10107371

No, but /jp/ along with the whole anime/manga/VN medium itself thought me to not give a fuck about what people thought of me, and to stop being an overly emotional depressed turbonerd.

It changed the way of how I viewed life itself, it went from /r9k/ esque behaviours to, "aslong as I have my VNs and /jp/ buddies I'm all good and happy with my life"

Touhou, it gives warm and fuzzy feelings..

I don't know for sure but the Shinto feels of Touhou has emerged to my soul.

Chrono Trigger. It made me realize that if I beat up dynosaurs, a cute primitive with huge jugs will fall in love with me.

>> No.10107521

Can't think of one.
Surprisingly games have little to no effect on my way of thinking.
Only /jp/ was able to do that so I'd have to say F/SN because that's what got me beginning playing various VNs and let to me ultimately being here.

I loved Bioshock. It's like porn of the way things used to be before welfare existed. Also gave me an appreciation for scrounging and do-it-yourselfing.

TF2 and the early Mega Mans that I played when I was still in highschool. They helped me get through some tough times and see the brighter side of things. Through TF2 I made some of my earliest friends, we aren't together anymore but I have fun memories of being with them and having fun together.

On weekends one of the first things I'd when I got up was do speedruns of either Mega Man 2 or 3. Those were my faves. I remember my best time for 3 was 1 hour and 6 mins. Then when I got bored of playing Mega Man I'd go play TF2 for 8-10 hours straight with my e-buddies.

What wonderful memories of youth!
