It's 00:30, so I figure the British NEETs are up:

Just a heads-up that the Jobcentre has a fancy new site, where, with your permission, your advisors/the other staff can check on what you've been doing. The site itself is fantastic (if you actually want a job) and has a lot more placements thanks to a partnership with Monster.com, but, if you're the kind of person that doesn't actually apply for any, this could mean trouble.

As I said, it's optional, but my advisor was pushing me pretty hard to use it today. It wouldn't surprise me if it becomes mandatory for most people soon.

Good luck, /jp/.

Why would anyone want to stop being NEET?

Maybe they want to attract a 3DPD woman for some human contact.

I think I'll be getting a job soon.

I've been pretending to look for one for a couple years already, but I can't really go on like this.

My good PC is already out of commission and I can't afford to get it running again, but today the old laptop I'm using didn't want to turn itself on too. I almost had a panic attack, but I went to sleep for a couple hours and it was working again when I woke up.

My parents don't buy me anything or give me money, and I'm not living in a socialistic enough country to be able to get on welfare.

My social anxiety has been clearing up a bit recently, so if I find an easygoing enough job, I'll probably apply. Now, just to start looking...

I'm sorry, /jp/.

Is it possible to allow them permission later if you don't at first?

> Find a job with Universal Jobmatch

What the fuck? What happened to Directgov jobs and skills search? I saw an announcement about this, but I don't want it.

The problem isn't that I need tailored listings, it's that all the jobs available in my area require experience/qualifications/socialising/effort.

Sorry if I come off as arrogant but why don't you just claim incapacity benefit instead?

I'm sorry to hear that. ;_;

>>10092663
I believe so. I think it's an option. I'm going to sign up for the site in a moment.

>>10092685
My advisor showed me all of the fancy features and filters. Pretty sure you should be fine with the new site.

I'm one of the people that actually wants to work someday. This isn't my homeboard, I just know there's lots of NEETs here.

No, I hate change. Especially since this sounds invasive.

Is Incapacity Benefit hard to get? I'm currently reapplying for ESA after they lied on my medical report. I don't feel entitled to it (my social worker disagrees) but Atos have made me cross. They seem to have a bad reputation for being shit.

Is there any website that tells me my rights in a digestible fashion? I would like to know what I can opt-out of.

That Welfare-to-Work site was pretty useful. I'm easily bullied into signing things, so it's handy to know I don't have to.

Did you read the whole post? I think he's admitting that while it's "fantastic" for normals, it's dangerous for truNEETs and he's warning that it may become mandatory, which could threaten many a /jp/sie's autism bux.

Thread is very /jp/.

>>10092748
Probably not. I've never bothered to read up on my rights, so, even if there is, I don't know of any.

I wish the US had something like this... I'd be happy to eat ramen for the rest of my life, but if I had a job, I could buy some extras to throw in...

Long post, but useful information within.
I've been on incapacity benefit for about five years. The DWP have just switched it over to ESA though. The first time I applied I was refused, like you by atos. It pissed me off because I was treated like shit by the doctor at the medical interview. I decided to appeal the decision. I was be sent a large collection of paperwork detailing how the DWP came to there conclusion. What was contained within the papers just pissed me off even more. It did however contain useful information that I was able to use against the DWP at a later date. I won the appeal as the trbunal agreed with me and not atos and the DWP.

When I was reassesed for ESA I was concerned that I would yet again have to go to appeal to be given the benefit. This time I was more organised and knew what the cunts wanted to hear. I wrote very little on the form. I just filled the envelope with letters from doctors and other specialists detailing what was wrong with me, leaving atos and the DWP very little oppotunity to argue otherwise. I argued my case so well, I get more benefit than I did before.

You don't have local job listings?
This is basically a Government version of Monster.com (now actually partnered with Monster).

Of course, it doesn't list all jobs, and most jobs I've applied for were listed elsewhere. A lot of larger companies prefer to do their own thing on their own careers websites.

I mean on what I can and cannot sign or request, despite what the Jobcentre Plus people tell me. A lot of programmes are optional but everything is buried away in the fine print.
