I don't understand. Does god fear love, or do you fear god?

Ok. I got this fantasy of mine. It is to read bible directly before all people in church. In most pious way possible. See how they would cower in fear. How they would reach unto me. That feeling would be quite exquisite.

Does this Christian church believe that Jesus is God incarnate or is it a Unitarian sect? Does it have any specific doctrines or rites?

Well, christianity says that Jesus is in fact God, or at least an aspect of it. Whatever Jesus is, he was there first, before anything, with God.

This is high blasphemy for Jews though.

If I remember correctly, Jehovah witnesses (Unitarians) are considere heretics by the rest of Christianity. Take that as you will.

Or at least the bible says he is indeed divine over and over again. You would think people would take the hint.

Protestant sects don't consider other Protestant sects heretical. Though of course the traditional sects, the old world sects like the Lutherans and the Calvinists, have some theological issues with the non-traditional new world sects, like Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons and Baptists and so on.

And Catholics don't technically consider Protestants heretics either, just the founders of the Protestant sects, and those who were the first to follow them.

I think the almighty is far more concerned with keeping the universe in check rather than having selfish children like yourself interfere with our own lives.

That's the problem with monotheism these days, they act in "God's" name to attain some stupid reward after death thinking by serving a man-made structure they are serving their Deity. When in the end, the structures you yourself are a part of, are only serving a select few to control others through fear.

Look at the fucking Middle East, the theocrats are the ones running the show there. They oppress women and hinder progress thinking it's good for society. Then they have a hissy fit when they see things that they think will infringe on their ability to control.

Let the forces that be judge us after death, and let's do what we can while alive to allow growth and prosperity for our species.

Denial of the divinity of Jesus is heresy, and makes moot his sacrifice. If a group follows the idea that Jesus was merely a saint, and not god-in-the-flesh, is it not heretical?

Welcome to Humanity, the most messed up group of misfits and scumbags in this side of the galaxy.

Mind you, dear anonymous, even if religion was gone, such abuses would still continue, except that people would have no incentives to behave like civilized folk.

If that were to happen, I'm afraid I would have to start my own damn religion of sorts.

Yeah. I would start the Tau'va.

>> No.10043473

>>10043455
Well to the Catholics yeah. The argument over whether Jesus was God or not was the source of a lot of controversy for the early Church. Some said that Jesus was fully divine and not at all human, he was just a hologram God was projecting from heaven or something, who looked real but wasn't actually a flesh and blood human. Others said that he was fully human and not at all divine, like any other prophets. What the Nicene Council decided in the 4th century is that Jesus was fully human and fully divine, God incarnate.

I suppose that some Protestants would consider Unitarianism to be heretical because it contradicts the Bible somewhat, but the trinity is never actually mentioned in the Bible.

Anyway I'm pretty sure that most Protestant sects don't have any sort of body of theologians to decide what's heresy and what isn't like the Catholics do.
