You can do supremely impressive combos in soku that would make your opponent laugh and cry at the same time, it's just hardly ever worth it. There's a Yukari combo that involves TWO wallports.

I don't think he meant difficulty, just your options for actually putting a combo together. Having limited melee options means you have to rely on bullets with enough hitstun to link more attacks. The game follows a pretty rigid attack chain of melee < B bullet < C bullet < special < super so you have to rely on bullets, which intentionally start kicking the proration up quite a bit. Some characters like aya have good options for jump cancelling to get around that though.

However, like >>10025320 said, this game actually does have some impressive combos. They're mostly just practice mode things to show off with or theres just very little reason to perform them. Either they're very situational and require high execution or they actually do less damage than your braindead BNBs. Its kind of like arcana heart where there are some amazing combos that aren't just loops but all you really need as an average player is BC Super.

You really missed the point. Bullets are required to extend combos due to horrible melee options. Never claimed that it was a bad thing, just explaining why its limited. Flying looks awkward but the rest looks pretty good. I'm hoping that the awkwardness of movement is a result of unfamiliarity on the part of the players, a lot of games that look great when people are comfortable can be hilariously stiff when both people are new.

I really hope Alice, Iku, and Reisen make it into the game. Their gameplay was probably what I liked most about UNL, so I look forward to seeing how they are in HM

Nah, combos in Soku usually require you to change your spellcards and have your opponent fixated at a specific position for them to work and most of them aren't even worth it.
