The theme of Muramasa is an avant-garde look at good vs. evil and the challenge of universal peace. What theme does FSN have? Does it even have a theme?

Big 3 thread.

MLA A SHIT

But seriously, MLA convinced me to never pick up a VN again, they're just huge waste of time.

>> No.10022750

That self sacrifice is shit? At least according to Nasu in the final Tiger Dojo.

How does Muramasa compare to MLA and Sky?

Just generally quality wise. Is it more enjoyable than the other two?

I found MLA a bit of a mix for the same reasons everyone does (shitty protagonist, horrible pacing, really lukewarm ending) and Dive 2 wasn't that great compared to the first one (I actually only managed to like Makoto's route). Does Muramasa manage to stay good until the end?

Fate/Stay Night is a coming of age story supposedly.

MLA isn't really enjoyable in my opinion. Baldr Sky is enjoyable and hard to hate, but it's too passive. Muramasa is a hate or love thing, but most people who have played it love it because the characters are so well written and the game is thematically deep and profound.

Yes. It has its slow parts, but they never overshadow the rest of the game. I can't really think of any point where I was tempted to stop reading.

Seriously, just play it already. It's arguably the best eroge out there.

Shirou and Kou's situations are pretty similar now that I think of it.

F/SN: Shirou starts out and stays like a generic shounen protagonist for the first route, mans up and questions his ideals in UBW and finally realises there are more important things in life during HF, which is basically the antithesis of the first two routes.

Baldr Sky: Kou starts out with a mentality of a generic high schooler due to his memory loss but matures with each route. F.ex. he doesn't join Fenrir due to his daddy issues in the first two routes, gets over that bullshit during the next ones and in the second last route he *doesn't need to* join up because he's already very capable on his own (he even tries to leave Rain behind for her own safety).

>>10022815
It's fun.

>> No.10022890

>>10022870
I'd say it's different because Ko was already developed, the only difference was how much of his memory had been lost between the routes.
Take Chinatsu/Aki, he didn't get over his daddy issues as much as he has the feeling he stopped resenting his father long ago.

Shirou starts as an unbelievably idealistic and altruistic retarded from the beginning to the end serves as a way for Nasu(author) to mock all idealists and altruists.

Since it's "coming of age" story, I imagine Nasu himself used to be idealistic in his youth but then got broken and now he's butthurt

>He wasn't a true villain
I don't know, he seemed pretty villainous to me. I mean he was no Doushin, but he wasn't a very nice person either.

But the whole thing with Sorimachi was that he didn't really think in terms of good and evil in the first place. He was perfectly okay with killing people for whatever reason, so long as you completely committed to that reason. Kageaki didn't do that, and that's what pissed Sorimachi off so much.

>> No.10024017

>>10023053
Kageaki is pretty much Bentham to Sorimachi's Nietzsche.

Incidentally, Nietzsche did think that Bentham and Mill were both self-righteous asshats.
