Human beings learn to move on. It's wired into their brains. "IMMORTALITY SUCKS BECAUSE EVERYONE IS GONNA DIIIIE" is the dumbest thing fiction has ever come up with, many people have to deal with their grandparents, parents, and sometimes even siblings, friends, or spouse and children dying without being immortal, and they do. The only thing that's dangerous about immortality is boredom.

And there's all the more reason to become immortal if there are other immortals to hang out with.

Not at all. You only have one family. Being immortal doesn't make you magically grow more out of thin air. Having more spouses and children is your own choice, so you'll be prepared for the consequences (and have moved on from the old one) if you start a new family.

The only way you things can end up nearly as bad as you're trying to make it sound with "doing it again, and again, and again, forever" is if someone fell into a vicious cycle of throwing themselves into new relationships in order to try to recover from the last one ending, and even that is unlikely because of the simple fact that most relationships fail on their own anyway.

If anyone's nitpicking it's you. You're not only pulling up a very specific scenario but also completely neglecting the simple fact that being an immortal would completely change someone's perspective and goals in life as well.

>Eventually, probably. But eternity is relentless. Your body is immortal, but your mind and self are not. Time will wear you down; that's what it does.
I would presume with immortality comes agelessness and good health. How much does time really wear you down when you don't have to worry about your body and mind deteriorating? Getting old is a physical process. Your mind is already equipped to keep itself healthy over the years by discarding useless information and adapting to new circumstances, with an eternally young body it should be possible to preserve an eternally young mind as well.

Remilia is a devil . Devil's contracts are absolute. Canon.

Remilia made a contract with Sakuya, who wants to back out. Fabricated backstory.

Putting these together, you get a situation in which Sakuya has attempted to back out of an absolute contract, and is being exacted some measure of punishment for it, which is played out in the doujinshi we're talking about.

Do you have any objections to what I've said so far?

>> No.10020286

Remilia is a devil. Devil's contracts are absolute. Canon.

At some point in the past, Sakuya made a contract with Remilia, to serve Remilia forever, or as long as Remilia lives, or something like that. This is part of the backstory and is not canon.

Putting these together, you get a situation in which Sakuya has attempted to back out of this absolute contract, and is being exacted some measure of punishment for it, which is played out in the doujinshi we're talking about.

What part of what I've stated, or the proposed backstory, do you find particularly ridiculous?

>> No.10020311

>>10020256
Hm... Let me say it like this - in *that particular doujin* artist explicitly said two things:
1. Sakuya made an Eternal Horrible Deal with Remilia. That kind of deal can't be cancelled. So she was (sort of) doomed. Well, only Sakuya is to blame, I guess. Too bad for her.
2. Remilia wanted Sakuya's leg. Everybody is more than fine with it.
That's all. I was kinda confused about parts when we talked about basic canon facts and parts when we discussed that doujin only. Things were quite mixed up. That was my fault, I admit it.

>>10020286
> Remilia is a devil. Devil's contracts are absolute. Canon.
Nope and nope. Remilia is a vampire (she could call herself Angel or Great Unmoving Library if she wanted so, so what?) and there was nothing said about d.contracts whatsoever. That was my main points.

>That was my main points.
Your main point is wrong. Vampires are 悪魔 (devil; demon; fiend; evil spirit,) the contracts of 悪魔 are absolute, the end. This isn't in the doujin because it's canon as described in PMiSS, and honestly, it's probably true in Japanese mythology as well.

>there was nothing said about d.contracts whatsoever
A "promise of eternal loyalty," a "deal with a demon." It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together. Plus I checked the original Japanese for good measure and the word for "deal" was 契約 anyway, which can also be translated as "contract" or "compact" and they're synonyms anyway so it hardly matters.

You're going out of your way to argue that this doujin is inherently stupid based off, as far as I can tell, nothing. And Alice was weirded the fuck out by it anyway.

Though it's a little annoying we never saw Sakuya ACTUALLY back out of whatever agreement they actually had. The page that goes back to what happens in IN's EX stage has Remilia ask her about becoming immortal, and Sakuya turns it down.

Next thing we know Remilia decides that if she's going to be like that, she wants Sakuya's leg made into jerky. Like they just decided to skirt around whatever kind of deal might have been made and how they decided to break it.

Sakuya pledged her eternal loyalty/service to Remilia. In rejecting immortality, she surrendered herself to eventual death as a human and broke her oath; how can she serve Remilia forever if she's going to die?

It's sketchy on purpose. This circle does a lot of open-to-interpretation stuff like that.

She intends to serve her in death from the netherworld.

She does?

I get that, I guess. But the way it's presented it almost seems like Sakuya just totally forgot about the whole "eternal servitude" thing, or just always thought it meant for the rest of her life.

Either way, still loved this doujin.

This guy has great ideas and proceeds nicely with them, but holy hell if there's a guy walking this planet that knows how to completely fuck up his endings, it's him.

I think the one about Momiji was the best.

That one made me sad. Great tengu trio interaction, though.

Holy shit we get it, you don't like his endings.

But Vampires are 吸血鬼, not 悪魔

Perhaps by eating Sakuya's leg, Sakuya will figuratively serve Remilia for eternity as part of Remilia's her body?

Akyuu refers to 吸血鬼 as 悪魔 so it counts.
