You don't need to powder it that much, give it an oil rub if you don't know how long it was in a warehouse before shipping if you want to be on the safe side and powder it after that.
Stick a piece of her packing foam between the doll and the wall when you lean her against it.
Smell is going to be something you might not have anticipated, she's going to smell like the factory when she arrives so I suggest using a scented oil when you give her a rub down and if you have any perfume for her spray it on her wig and clothes and not on her directly. Don't over oil her trying to get the smell to fade, it'll go away quick enough on its own if your place is well ventilated and you leave her a little exposed and not all covered up.

If the doll was custom made (aka it didn't sit in a warehouse for an undisclosed period of time) you shouldn't need to wash/oil/powder it right away unless you have sensitive skin. My rule of thumb is to wait until the skin starts to feel sticky or she collects a bunch of lint before I give them the first wash, In my personal experience cornstarch is pretty good but it isn't fully able to restore that soft gliding feeling a new doll has. I've never gotten a rash or anything from using a doll straight out of the box but ymmv.
If you're ok with it, it's better to store the doll nude so there's no risk of clothing staining / leaving impressions on the skin.

You don't need to worry about oiling. Give that a month. Get some vaseline and slather up the armpits/elbows and kneepits/knees, the tense areas of the pussy, and anywhere else you notice "tension" or stretching when you pose her. Then you don't have to do that ever again. This will make these areas more pliable. Then after a month or two of use go ahead and oil her. You do that maybe once or twice a year. They work well for me as I have had zero luck drying out my torso/hip without it. Calling it a "meme" is being a bit facetious. I think a lot of what peoples success is with things like the aquarium pump boils down to: What are they drying? Is it deep? Is it heavy? How much privacy do they have to take it to the bathroom? Are the internals complicated and have hard to dry grooves? Is the area in which they live humid? I've tried the microfiber sticks and the standard drying sticks, they work OK but in order for me to get the hole completely dry I would have to use 6+ sticks and by that point they start tearing the tpe inside the hole. I typically use my hip/torso before bed so sticking a pump in both holes overnight works great for me and it's so much easier than breaking out all the microfiber sticks, using all 12 of them, then having to wash/dry them the next day. You need to actually have it sealed/bonded. Covering the ball in lube, which is water based, and shoving it back in basically undoes your efforts in drying. You're running a huge risk of moisture getting beyond the canal and damaging the skeleton and/or bacteria growth. I would advise you do your best to dry it out again, keep it dry, and not use that hole until you can get it repaired. As far as getting it repaired, either contact your vendor about a return for repair/replacement (shipping will probably cost you as much as a new doll though) or look up guides on how to do it yourself and hope you don't fuck it up.
