Japanese is extremely contextual anon, subjects in Japanese are often omitted if it's obvious what's being talked about. That information still needs to be in the translation though, as English is not the same.

This is matter of perspective and the exact sort of rationale that localizers use when they rewrite stuff.
The best VNs are still ultimately just pulp fiction and a literary critic can easily argue that they are not worth treating with humility or respect.
I don't know anything about this nukige in particular, but it looks miles above some of the bottom of the barrel dlsite trash that is out there, so at least the artist seems to have cared.

Because animation is just 'for kids'? Voice acting is downright comical and they recycle actors for dozens of characters just to save money.

Meanwhile, here in LatAm we got proper dubs of anime. DB, Sailor Moon, Seiya, Digimon, Sakura and more - all uncensored and without bullshit Macek-cuts. Due to licensing terms (and eventual merch lines, I suppose) the names of some characters were modified to match the EN dubs, such as Digimon's Izzy and Matt. Aside from that, everything else was untouched
Dubbing studios here took shit seriously and did stellar work, dubbing OPs and EDs while keeping original JP insert songs in the episodes. After years of work, the actors and directors for these dubs are well known and keep in touch with fans, others run VA workshops, conferences and so on. Meanwhile US VAs either get cancelled or just spew out bullshit in cons while complaining about the shows or their fans.

Spanish translated VNs are rare, but whenever I come across one, it handles translation from JP way better than any English project does.
And don't even get me started on videogames like RPGs... FF8 was downright fanfic territory in English, but the EU translations were faithful to the original script.

The US concept of translating JP work seems to be oriented to treating the source with disdain, along with the fans, while doing it with barely any effort. Other countries actually appreciate the source and the artists involved, see France/Spain manga and anime in the 90s/00s.
