Though Hana knows what she wants is to get a family.

"You don't say it," the sulking satori expressed, violently opening the doors, her narrowed eyes at me and a fervent blush on her face, covered legs trembling, posture aggravated, sweating, soft skin red, and— "Aren't you a sage and hermit? Supposedly a paragon of stoicism and control of self?" I winced, the words cutting deep. I hate this monstrous lust with passion… Satori rolled her eyes, likely having heard all of this—she nods, indifferent.

Ah…

"Well, let's get this over with. I'll need to finish that after we're done—" 'I could help you with it', I thought subconsciously, and Satori looked at me horrified.

Quiet and red, I sat on the table with Satori, Yuugi growing more mortified with each word of our words.

Koishi and Kokoro kept blissfully uncaring.

"Sorry for catching you in a private moment," I start, and Satori angrily nods, crossing her arms—and legs—, third eye looking tired. "But I need your help, Satori…" I looked around the table, thinking, 'Do you want them to listen? It's about Yukari', and though Satori openly glanced at Kokoro—who simply cocked her head a little—, she nodded. "Yukari is hunting me."

The atmosphere changed like the flip of a switch.

A deep, confused frown replaced Yuugi’s redness, and Satori appeared contemplative. "… Hunting you—the Kasen Ibaraki? Her Sister Sage; capable of easily killing her in the right circumstances?" Inquired Yuugi, her words bittersweet. It's true, but it goes both ways…

"Yukari… has power over me." I bit my tongue, fingers drumming the table. I don't have much time… I gazed around—Koishi and Kokoro seem harmless; Yuugi knows it already, and I'm seeking Satori's help… So I thought about Ibarakidouji; Satori's eyes widening. Yuugi looked between us; I nodded at her, and she knew, "—since Reimu was a child thirty years ago, she couldn't perceive lust as evil and, therefore, didn't seal it away… I wasn't aware of the extent of that mind-numbing lust until the day I… I-I went to the HSE and violated Anon. I locked myself up afterward, punishing myself for what I did… But Yukari was aware of my past and manipulated me into her grasp, to such a point that I can now only rely on her to seal this lust away."

"Kasen…" Yuugi's hand reached across the table, gently yet strongly squeezing mine—oh, this warmth on my face. Rapidly, I cleaned it, now with attention from both Kokoro and Koishi.

"It doesn't explain why you need my help." Satori points, intently listening.

"… About 15 minutes ago, after a mission to destroy one of Ibaradouji's cults—" Yuugi frowns hard, but I gesture a 'no' to her. Later. "I hijacked one of Yukari's gaps. She doesn't know I'm here yet, but when she finally does, she'll certainly come straight to me… That's where I need your help, Satori."

"I fear that's a useless endeavor; you see, I cannot read into Yukari's mind. She can manipulate the boundaries of my power's area of effect to be beneath my skin, which leaves my power deaf." There's a frustrated, angry note in her voice.

Koishi, for some reason, freezes upon hearing that.

I ignore it in favor of giving Satori a small, sly smile, bandaged hand on the table—I expected that: Yukari may be a lot of things, but carelessness is not one of them. "That's why I did things the way I did—Yukari is beyond just angry at what I did." I recall that glare she gave me before I jumped inside the gap. Satori raises an eyebrow, a smile creeping up. "Her gaps have to be maintained; they don't work passively. So, I will create a distraction; she'll find me and then make a beeline to me without raising that specific gap in her powers. It'll be mere seconds before she realizes what's happening, but should be enough… With those precious seconds, I'll need you to read her mind and uncover everything about the Cult to Ibaradouji."

"My, what a well-thought-out and not dangerous at all plan… Do I have a choice in it?" My smile gets larger. As if our Foul Detective—or so I'm betting—would miss a chance of looking into Yukari's mind… Satori huffs, grin dangerous. "Satisfactory thoughts, Sage-chan. Let's talk about that distraction now—we need a VERY good one to fool Yukarin~"

I try my hardest to hide my excitement, but Satori simply raises her eyebrow. Ah…

Deep in the talk, we missed a whisper from a frowning Koishi: "Yukari can manipulate Sis' power…?" Kokoro watched.

Anon’s day began peacefully. As was his new custom, he freshened up before checking on his new roommate. Odd… The doll Alice left him was nowhere to be found. Perhaps she went ahead of him and began tending to the garden Yuuka grew? He left the fake shrine’s main building and headed towards the mock lake, finding a sight he hadn’t expected.

A large table and a stout pillar stood proudly near the lake, adorned with silver platters, a candelabra, and a tasteful scattering of autumn leaves and vines. Eight seats and plates were already set, presumably for a large group today. He’d have to look for Dolly before they came in. Suddenly, a shadow flew overhead, blocking the sun from his sight. Looking to the sky, four silhouetted figures began to dive towards him. At the same time, a voice rang out in a strangely catchy tune:

“S-O-S
MY SIGNAL OF DISTRESS
S-O-S
IT’S TIME THAT WE CONFESS
L-O-V-E LOVE
CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT YOU~”

Even out of her usual punk genre, he could recognize Mystia’s… unique voice anywhere. What surprised him were her three companions: Three tengu, all dressed rather conservatively in fall fashion that fit the outside world rather than Gensokyo, much less the HSE. Aya was there with two girls he recognized from the complaints she and many other tengu shared with him: The brunette must be Hatate, the lazy writer that coasts by thanks to her high rank in society. The black-haired one standing a head over both of them and exuding an air of arrogance must be the daitengu, Megumu. She sent many of her employees to ‘partake’ in his services, so her name must have slipped into his mind at some point.

Befitting her rank, the daitengu stepped forwards first, cowing her usually-exuberant reporter. She had a smug smirk on her face, looking directly into his eyes. “It’s a pleasure to finally see you face-to-face, Anon. I’ve heard so much about your skills as a husband and provider. For that, some associates of mine came together to reward you for your efforts in, shall we say, providing for the community?” She quickly swiveled her head towards Hatate, carrying a book with a red ribbon and black cover. “Is that okay? Serving the community?”

The tengu quickly leafed through her book, searching for some excerpt to back up her boss. “Um, there’s something here about serving tables…”

“Good enough!” Seemingly satisfied, Megume grasped Anon by the shoulders and led him to the head of the table. “Since you’ve fed so much of my flock, it would only be right for us to return the favor.” Her two subordinates began lifting lids to reveal dishes still steaming: Mashed potatoes topped with cheese and breadcrumbs, pies filled with fruit, casseroles, corn slathered in butter, a smattering of roasted vegetables… everything was there simply to taste great. However, they left the platter in the center a mystery, only a carving knife and skewer gave any indication to what lied beneath. Regardless, his mouth watered and his stomach grumbled in anticipation.

“Now now, I know you can’t wait to dig into what the girls prepared for you. However, we still have to wait for the rest of our guests. They’re bringing a surprise!” As if on cue, three girls entered, struggling to carry a giant platter through the veranda. Momiji was apparently taking the brunt of the weight while a fox he recognized as Tsukasa pretended to help and a girl with bright, puffy wings tried her best to assist. Miraculously, they managed to maneuver their load to the stand between the table and pond, the lid dangerously askew.

“I’m terribly sorry, Iizunamaru-sama! We were ready to secure the target, but Kutaka forgot to bring a rod, so we had to wait for another opportunity while she retrieved it. But we got her, and we got her good!” The kuda-gitsune proudly delivered her report to her superior while the chicken goddess hung her head and blushed.

“As long as you have her secured, it’s fine.” Her? Did they have someone trapped underneath that dish?! “Now don’t worry about that Anon, you’ll see what’s underneath it soon. You have one last thing to do.” Every seat now filled, Anon looked over his group. Four tengu, two youkai and a goddess from Hell. Now Mystia was humming something about someone named Cathy going to the supermarket? All eyes locked on him as he lifted the lid at the center of the table, revealing a succulent turkey, stuffed and basted with a cup of gravy standing next to it. Kutaka and Mystia squirmed a little, but the tengu looked ready to pounce.

As he revealed the prize bird, the lid of the “surprise” fell off. Hog-tied and gagged with an apple, Yukari Yakumo was faced directly towards the table. Thanks to the angle, Anon was spared from seeing the point of connection between the gap hag and the golden Rod of Remorse sticking out of her ass.

If it weren’t for the panicked movement of her eyes, Anon would’ve been certain Yukari was dead. Megumu didn’t miss a beat diverting from the reveal of their new guest. “Don’t worry about her, all she can do is watch. Now, please cut us all a piece of and we’ll say Grace!” Anon complied with the malice hidden in her command, wondering what she meant by ‘grace’. He cut thin slices for the nervous guard and the singer, while giving whole legs to each of the tengu. Once everyone had a full plate, Mystia stood up and read from a paper Kutaka handed her.

“Bless us, O Lord, and Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty. Let us forever remember Thy grace through the love of Christ.”

Christ?! Lord?! What the hell were they talking about? As if reading his mind, Aya spoke up “I know you probably have a lot of questions. So did all of us. But I’m sure that if Dolly could see the light of the Lord from this morning, you will too!” As she spoke, she brought her bag on top of the table, opening it up to release a little doll dressed in a black robe and habit. It carried a black book similar to Hatate’s flying over to Anon. He took the tome from his little companion, reading the title:

A second later, the ground began to shake. The entirety of the fake shrine rose into the sky as giant wooden masts sprouted form the ground. A large flag bearing a crucifix unfurled as turbines began spinning above on top of great pillars. As a funnel began rising from the ground across from the pond, something bright shot out and flew towards the group. It revealed a girl wearing a stuffy smock and apron that was cut open at the chest to expose an iridescent red eye.

“Captain Iizunamaru, the engines are ready to go! We’re ready to head to the New Paradise!”

“Perfect. We’ve just got one last thing to take care of.” Walking over to the sage, whom was desperately balancing on her stand, Megumu hoisted the woman over her shoulder and walked to a seemingly arbitrary point away from the shrine. She made sure the blonde woman had the perfect angle to watch as the ground separated an inch away from her, revealing a wooden hull that steadily gained altitude.

A mixture of relief and deep dread mixed in Anon’s stomach. “Aya, what the hell is going on?! Why is there a ship inside the HSE and why are there so many birds around?” The tengu put a finger up to her lips and dragged Anon down into the lower deck, bringing him to a room full of cloth outfits and hats with buckles. There, she passed him a white shirt and vest and drew a curtain between them to protect her modesty.

“It all happened a few days ago when Hatate brought back a book from Kourindou. The Good Book. Iizunamaru-sama immediately had it printed and distributed across the mountain. Everyone loved it, except for the Moriyans. So, we decided to flee from Kanako’s persecution and travel eastward to practice Gensokyian Christianity freely!”

“That still doesn’t explain Mystia or Utsuho. Or hell, even Kutaka!” Gensokyian Chrisitanity?! This was getting out of hand. How did the Bible convert them when they had three gods living as neighbors?

“Obviously our missionaries reached their hearts. Sister Kutaka even decided to become our nun!” Through the curtain, he could see that Aya was putting on a long dress and frilly cuffs. His own outfit seemed a little formal as well.

“So, that’s great and all, but why do you need me to come with you? I won’t be much help colonizing a new island or anything.” He was looking around for a porthole, anywhere close by to escape from.

“That’s because you aren’t supposed to separate a husband and a wife, silly!” The tengu threw aside the curtains, dressed in a white dress and veil just like a western bride. The plunging neckline contrasted heavily with her earlier outfit, but that didn’t draw his attention. It was the round bump around her belly, the telltale sign of pregnancy. His own outfit was fit to match her, and he realized in an instant why Aya was kidnapping him. He was still a little lost on how she was converted.

“You don’t want our children living in sin, do you? And I… I…. I want to save your soul worshiping the false Hakurei God! Together, we’ll bask in the light of the Lord and his infinite forgiveness!”

At this point, the tengu was grabbing Anon’s shoulders while the man gave up all pretenses and yelled desperately for help from anyone. Ran, Chen, Reimu, hell, even Yukari. Bolting out of the room, he ran back up to deck, surrounded by winged girls wearing white dresses. The ship had neared the ceiling of the HSE at this point, before the nuclear hell raven raised her control rod upwards and blasted away the roof. There was nothing left to stop the Gensokyian Christians from escaping.

Everyone on deck stared at Anon. An arch had been raised in front of his home with a lectern nearby for Kutaka to read from. She wore a wedding dress as well. Everyone on this damn ship was dressed for matrimony! Even Okuu managed to change while he was with Aya!

Megumu strode up to him once more, her dress revealing her toned legs through a slit at the side. “Well well well, if it isn’t the man of the hour! I hope you weren’t having too much fun with your bride-to-be down there. Save it for after your vows.”

“This is crazy. This is insane. Why are you all dressed like brides? Why is Kutaka dressed like a bride when she’s officiating this? I know I’ve been away from the Outside for a while, but I don’t remember Jesus allowing polygamy!”

“Hatate, Mark 12:25!”

“For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven!”

“So, there you have it. It’s fine for all of us to marry you during our colonization since marriage rules aren’t going to screw us over once we actually get to Heaven!” Her argument supported by Christ himself, Megumu hooked an arm around Anon, leading him down to the crowd of eager girls. Aya came up behind him, taking his other arm. He could feel her baby bump pressing against him, reminding him that one of these girls had a genuine reason to push for this.

“Aya, are you alright with this? Why don’t I just marry you alone, I already got you pregnant! Besides, better to stay on God’s good side instead of pushing the rules, right?” If he could get Aya on his side, maybe he had a shot arguing against all the other girls!

“As long as you’re happy, I’m happy. I can’t wait to spend my life together with you and our children, away from all the horrible things you had to go through. I’ll never look at any man besides you, but as long as you still have room in your heart for me, I don’t mind sharing you with other girls eager to please you. Plus, marrying all of us means nobody can commit the sin of adultery or coveting one’s spouse!” Anon felt visceral shock: She’d been completely indoctrinated. Every hint of jealousy she’d ever shown before was gone, replaced with a pure—no, naive affection.

“We need you as a communal husband anyways to secure the future of the colony. I have it all planned out: My children will be governers, Aya and Hatate’s will be white-collar, Momiji’s will be military…” Megumu went on and on, detailing an entire system of Anon’s children to be used to replace an island of fairies with his winged progeny.

“Aha! Won’t God be disappointed in you committing genocide against an island of fairies?!” It was an infallible argument that worked multiples times in the Outside throughout history.

“Why would He? They just come back to life anyways.” His arguments were exhausted. They were at the alter anyways. After every girl aboard the N.S. Gensokyian Christian Experience said their vows, Dolly brought a box holding nine rings… and a tenth for her. Dolly and Kutaka officiated each other, leaving Anon breathless as each of his blushing brides swarmed him with kisses and carried him to their marital bed. As he was engulfed in a holy hell of caressing feathers, he heard Tsukasa whisper something into his ear before losing consciousness:
“After all, they stuffed a turkey for you. Time to return the favor.”

Anon awoke with a start. He was in bed alone, a book in his lap. “The Story of the First Thanksgiving”. His common sense told him everything he needed to know, but he still left his bedroom to check the shrine grounds. The sky was still moonless. The pond was still covered in flowers. The perimeter was certainly still on solid ground, housed safely inside Yukari’s building. With a sigh of relief, Anon traveled to the fake offering box for the Hakurei God and ruminated on his dream. Finally, he offered his prayer, not caring if the deity could hear him or not.

“Please Hakurei-sama, the Taoist lady was already too much. Don’t let Jesus into Gensokyo. I can’t handle this many people vying for my soul.”

A lone star high in Yukari’s simulated sky shone on him, causing his heart to skip a beat. Just as quickly, it was snuffed out. Maybe, just maybe, someone heard his prayer. Hoping against hope, Anon returned to bed, vowing to never read about American history again.
