The overall length I enjoy is around 20-30 minutes with 2 CGs minimum, not the low effort one CG per scene many studios do nowadays. I just finished the true route of Otome Concerto, and holy shit I thought you guys were joking. I was not expecting them to actually go all in and deliver a 100% full homo route about you and your best crossdressing bro being gay for each other. The route has no on-screen explicit sex, but there is a fanservice CG of Mutsuki's naked body at one point, and there's an offhand line where Mutsuki asks to compare cocks and MC says they'll do it later. Honestly, yeah, I agree. If you're going to go full homo you should actually commit and have Hinata fuck Mutsuki in the ass. I'm really disappointed they didn't have the stones to really deliver and make it a full-blown romance with h-scenes like the other routes. They could even have locked it to the after story so nobody would be jump scared by it, same as Nukitashi 2 did with Akino. Definitely the second biggest problem with the game after no Mimi route. Hopefully a fandisc can fix both these issues.
All in all I think Otome Concerto is a decent game - nothing incredible, nothing awful, Ruri's route is by far the best, fairly standard ensemble fare - that I'll definitely remember for the wild ride of the true route. I'm now there for their next game day one.

I think it's the best ensemble game by far? Being single writer helps a lot, it feels way more consistent and the different routes build off each other, instead of just isolated generic moege routes by side writers. And the true route being so kami and new is way better than just having nothing to wrap things up like all their other games.

And the characters are all so likable, everyone is craving Mimi route because she's so amazing, etc. Like maybe it's not the best game ever made, but compared to standard ensemble fare it's a massive improvement.

I quite liked the game, just to be clear. I don't know if I'd say if it's a huge improvement from other ensemble stuff (although I'm hardly an ensemble expert, I've only read a couple of their games) besides Secret Agent, which sucked. The game had great characters, fun comedy bits, really good h-scenes, but I did think Claire's route was a bit weak. Also some of the fight scenes felt really short for how much buildup they got and while I get it wasn't about the fights offscreening the fight in the final route was a shame.

If you read Otokana you can go read the crossover minigame, it's very nostalgic for me.
