thats right, but i really love that aunn. nice job getting zuns proportions and facial structure right. its always hard to get the kind of squishiness his drawings have.
heres a character ive been working on. shes kind of like the missing link between jacketko and marisa. i always thought the times before the spellcard rules were pretty interesting

thanks, i'm glad it came out accurate, wish i had more control over my lines though. your drawing is indeed pretty soft and sweet, no idea what the outfit it's based on is called but i'm a sucker for christian motifs like that. nice clean linework too, the only thing i don't like is how your clothes frills/folds are drawn as waves without a visible backside; feels like it's missing the proper depth. the design feels refined overall, nice work.

also a nice piece, i think the shading work is really good. the frills are rendered better here for sure, but it still has the same problem where the other side (or underside) of the fabric isn't drawn. i don't have any proper references handy, but you can try to think of them as wavy planes that extend from the outer wave of the frilled fabric to where it's connected - lines that show the edge should be on the inside and outside.

Yes and no. The space background color is airbrush. The "stars" are the spray brush from CSP. in glow dodge. I took a high quality picture of the moon from google, made it more yellow, and applied the Illustration filter from CSP to reduce the detail. An acquaintance recommeded it to me for backgrounds and so far I'm liking it

Hi it's me the beginner guy again, took a week or two break.
Anyway, last time/thread >>43804083 I set out to find a brush I liked. While the pic has some pretty big mistakes, the brush indeed works.
So this time I wanted to try actually coloring something... And eh. I don't really like it, and I don't know why. But experience is experience. And I could have done a lot worse for first time.

But I think I have now lightly touched the basics most relevant to me. It's now a matter of drawing more, improving the basics, and just experimentation till I find a style I actually like.

Perhaps try using AI to create some references for you? It can take a bit of tweaking, but you may get the right tags to create the sort of proportions you're looking for. It's easy to set up, I use it occasionally on my laptop and even though it's not a powerful computer, it can generate images just fine.

huhhhh, It's not that you learn how to paint digitally it's more like you learn fundamentals and use the medium for your personal needs (in this case I use photoshop so there are things like layers, masks, brushes, canvas size, gradients etc), because the same fundamentals in painting work for any medium, those fundamentals are the ones I've been trying to improve and learn so I suggest you learn those first.

I wanted to say that I have immense respect for everyone who posts in these threads and hones their craft. I've bought a drawing tablet a couple of weeks ago to create some art for a project I'm working on despite having 0 experience with visual arts (outside from a couple of years of education programme-mandated VA classes back in school) and spending time working with it lately has been a truly humbling experience and made me appreciate the work which everyone who creates and shares their art puts in a 1000 times more.
