If I see a kanji/words/phases/sentences I don't know, append it to a file (even if it's already in there) and at the end of the month I save a copy of the list, skim and delete the stuff I understand. then I shuf -n1 it and study what comes out a few times.
I only add stuff that I see in graded reading at my level and from grammar books.

I haven't studied Japanese for over 10 years so I'm just slowly getting back into it.

Can anyone tell me how I say something along the lines of "is there something you wanted to do?" (in regards to someone potentially wanting to do something but not asking)?

I've looked through my textbooks and at the usual translation tools but I'm not sure what the most natural way to say it in Japanese is.

i can translate the syllabels with ease already(ma da i ta no ka), but how the fuck do i know where a word ends an another starts? how do i differentiate them? that's kinda the only thing i dont get about japanese; sure, its easier with kanji i would assume, but still... for all i know it could be just two words: "mada" and "itanoka", but apparently its 4 seperate ones, being "mada ita no ka", which means something along the lines of "you're still here?" if google translate is correct...

First of all don't worry about stuff like this. As a beginner you don't need to think about the bigger picture, just keep building your basic vocabulary and grammar knowledge.

Secondly this isn't an issue for the same reason that it wouldn't be in English if we didn't use spaces. When you know the language you can more or less predict what's likely to come next. I'm sure you've finished someone's sentence for them before right?

I studied kanji in isolation first (like 1000 before i even tried to read anything) and I don't regret it, I think it worked well. It's better to sort-of/mostly understand some verb or jukugo and just reinforce the reading/nuance than get started from scratch every time you see a new word

For me, since ASMR is relaxing and comfy I feel like I can listen to it whenever. The cons being that people don't normally whisper, speak that quietly or speak at a slower pace. I think how helpful the ASMR is also depends on what the video is about. A roleplay's helpfulness will depend on what it's about and the language being used, how much the ASMRist is speaking in it, what pace they're speaking at etc. I think the most helpful ASMR videos for me are ones in which people are just rambling and talking about whatever but they're sadly less common than your typical roleplay.

Anki is a huge waste of time, japanese moreso than other languages is very logical and there is usually a way to figure out what words mean if you know their base components, pretty much everything can be a compound word.
The best way is to watch curedolly and start reading. If you don't know a word look it up in a monolingual dictionary, if you can't understand that then use Wiktionary. "basic/intermediat/advanced Dictionary of Japanese grammar" series is a good reference after you've seen curedolly.
If you feel the need to use an srs app, don't do it for more than 20 minutes a day until after you've seen all of curedolly and read at least the Basic dictionary of japanese grammar.
Wiktionary is a good resource for light dictionary reading, but always want to check a monolingual dictionary like 大辞林 first.

As for this there is the tadoku series of graded readers that you can find free and not free uploaded online, and plenty of other graded readers if you google around. Once you finish BDOJG and reading and rereading all the level 0 and 1 stuff you can find, then you can move on to level 2 stuff and IDOJG.
When you finish ADOJG, and all the levels (as well as curedolly) and have read and reread B and I and all your graded reading you can move on to easy light novels and manga.
