Youmu is very very good, but she's not limited, and I got too lucky on the starting rolls (lots of units), so I'm betting on getting her eventually and go with what I have.
Enough friends for two full errands, medicine (to deal with yukari), patchy, alice, cirno..).
Also being 1 dupe/doll away from unlocking cirno's Last Word will probably be very beneficial for early game.

Depends on the specific attack.
Here are Marisa's spellcards.
The elements on the first one all have white corners, so they all use Yang attack. Those on the second card all have black corners, so they all use Yin attack.
Most attacks/cards use an even mix of both.

finally got 3 stars with hard mode yukari! it's shit that i had to rely on RNG and hope that yukari doesn't target patchy until she hits at least 4.0 power and that most of her moon/fire danmaku hit yukari.
also, i finally got ran from today's roll. i avoided reading about why ran is busted in the threads because i don't want to think about a unit i don't have.
at a glance, she seems really good. she has a passive boost to yang shots when she grazes, and both her non-spell card attacks hit all and are yang. haven't tried her spell cards yet though.

not sure how others are faring with her hard mode one, but i definitely got gated for a while on normal mode since at that time, i only had the rental reimu, a lvl 22 marisa, and a lvl 24 youmu. hard mode was a bit better since i hade more units to choose from.

hard mode isn't that hard; it's just tiring since you just do the same repetitive actions over again.
i managed to do pretty well with just the usual group of friends comrpised of reimu, marisa, youmu, the occasional patchy when reimu starts to almost keel over, and two randoms role-playing as backpacks.

It's true. The resource management/off-gameplay of this game is almost 1:1 to Azur Lane. Which means it's one of those games where you have to open the app every 1 to 2 hours. Kind of lame.

What? No. There are gachas where you dump stamina in 5-20 minutes and it fills in 7-24 hours and has long duration commissions (Errands), like Genshin, Magia Record (doesn't have errands) or Danmemo. These you usually play them twice every day with very low-commitment.

Lost Word takes a lot of concepts from Azur Lane. High stamina caps so you can skip gameplay (besides dailies) for a few days whilst only doing off-gameplay. Low duration commissions so you have to be consistently opening the app, global limit breakers (bulins), dojo (Tactical Class), school (Lecture Hall), three different daily raids and all of them being available on sunday, rolls using two types of currencies, and ironically, the roll currency of Lost Word being cubes much like Azur Lane, etc.

I'm in a weird position where my Ran needs 60 dragon scrolls to upgrade, and farming those feels innefficient af in normal difficulty while hard difficulty is still tedious to play and requires me to use 3 characters
What should my focus be ? Farm normal for upgrades despite the low droprates and XP ? Go as far as I can in hard ? Even out my friends power or continue funnelling ressources in my best units ? Also am I mistaken in thinking that my Ran will eventually clear hard waves with just graze + focus shot ?
Sorry for the wall of question but I have trouble understanding the power curve from that point

Man, this makes me upset. This is my first gachashit, I went in completely blind, rolled a Sanae on my Remilia roll, got happy because she's cute, then after half a day I learn about rerolls and how a starter Sanae is crap luck.
After I rerolled for Youmu, I've managed to get only an extra Reimu and an extra Youmu with those free rolls you get for registering, and now it's again like a day after that and I see people rolling multiple characters in their tutorial rolls. Super annoying.

Honestly that was my first reroll with actual characters. Before that I had like 10 rerolls spending all the pre-registration rolls with 0 characters besides the Remilia roll. I'm mostly satisfied because I don't wanna get rate limited for rerolling too many times.

This is also probably the most forgiving game I've played when it comes to rerolling, takes literally seconds. If you try any other gacha games you'll wish they were this forgiving, many of them require you to do a fucking tutorial. Genshin's reroll process is 30 minutes long with unskippable cutscenes and lots of leveling involved just for 30 rolls.

Yeah, it sucks but that's how it is. From what I've been reading both on the threads here and the /vmg/ thread it seems like you'll be able to spark somewhat monthly when you reach end game, which is quite generous when comparing to other gachas.

The game has a good amount of charm, it's kinda cheap in some ways but I honestly feel like reinforces the doujin spirit Touhou has always encouraged. Multiple no-name VA's music that's just other people's remixes, it's kinda comfy.

Each roll you make in a banner gives you 1 point. After 150 rolls you can exchange them for the featured character in the banner. Basically ensures that you don't roll 30000 in one banner and never get the rate-up character.

My strategy in the jap version has always been to hoard cubes until the game releases a limited character that I really want. I even skipped Kokoro's banner even though she is my favourite simply because she wasn't limited. Eventually I just pulled her in another banner randomly. Always hurts to skip banners but it is the most efficient way to use cubes unless you want to spend lots of money. Of course I am still often low on cubes because the game sometimes just releases 2 characters I want really close to each other. Use graze + spell cards for the first 2 turns with front row, then swap in Ran and Youmu. On that last turn, use max graze, max boost and all skills then let it all out on gapbitch. Can probably do it with a little less and RNG but this seems good enough to unlock Lunatic for now.

I can't kill her with just Yuuka in 1 turn either. I always use Yuuka + Medicine to farm her for her card drop because that way she will always be beaten in 1 turn because of all the poison instantly breaking her fully.

If anyone is still having issues with it crashing on rooted phones, I messed around and got it to work. Two things you can try:
1. Make sure Magisk is updated to the newest version, v23, and check that Lost Word is selected under Magisk Hide
2. If that fails, trying downloading the Island app off the Play Store and make a work profile, then stick Lost Word in it
I'm doing both of these and the game finally runs. It also works on Bluestacks if emulators are more your speed.

It's not too bad, that lets you nullify it all with grazing.

Some other characters also have ways to heal themselves or others but are not primary a healer. Some healers like Kokoro or Eirin can also deal good damage while Sanae does nothing but heal.
