wow i'm not very good but i can understand most of the errors in the jamal garbage video. people make mistakes or have trouble putting their thoughts into coherent speech so i forgive them. but the animal crossing one is genuine and hilarious.

I don't have a real reason to be learning japanese, is that bad? (self.LearnJapanese)submitted 4 days ago by MinisomSo I got interest in the language and culture like many when I discovered anime at around 13. I always thought the language sounded and looked super cool so I wanted to learn it. At the time I also wanted to move there like many young weebs do. At about 15 my mom got me some 1-1 classes. They lasted me for about a month or two. Due to financial issues I had to quit really early but still during this time I learnt hiragana and katakana fully. After I dropped it I never thought of continuing it by myself, I just figured I didn't really need it. After a while I also got different interests besides japanese media so I never picked it up again.Im 18 now and my best friend is learning japanese as part of her uni course. She mentioned once how it would be fun to be able to communicate in japanese between us, and thats basically all it took for it all to come back.I already had a lot of interest in the language from before and this sounded like fun to learn together, also quarentine gave me a lot of free time so I figured "Why not?"Since I'm studying animation at uni, when my parents ask me why I'm learning japanese it I always say "You never know, they have a big animation industry" but truth be told, I don't really want to work as an animator in japan. I dont even consider moving there in general anymore. So essentially its been a couple of months, studying 1-2 hours a day and Its a VERY rewarding experience. I already know 3 languages but in my opinion, the more the merrier.Thing is with how hard japanese is by nature, most people learn it out of need, they WANT it to have a purpose. Im just learning it because its cool and I want to gossip with my friend.Would it be more advisable to quit and use my time on something else? Is it silly that I'm learning it even though I don't have a reason to besides wanting to?TL;DR- Ive been studying for a couple months without a real reason as to why, and even though I'm loving it, would it make more sense to just give it up and do something else with my time?
lmfao

fact: everyone shitting on n1 right now has never taken it and could not pass it
its difficult to understand sentences like これは世間を憚かる遠慮 when you dont know the words especially when theyre abstract and cant be described by a single equivalent english word

Hello, can anyone help me with this sentence I'm trying to write? What I want to say: "Would you like to bring your friend to the beach?" 君の友達はビーチに齎すが好きですか?So "friend of you" is the topic, I use the target ni particle to describe the beach as the destination of "to bring," I think I have that part right. But how do I say "WOULD YOU LIKE to bring your friend to the beach?" If I'm way off base please correct me I'm still new to it all.
holy fuck now that is some good OC
Thinking of learning the radicals before properly starting kanji, I like the idea of being able to break each one into recognisable chunks. Will I be wasting my time?
>>33073815The other part of me wonders if the sentence is correct if I just delete "が好きです" and since it's a question I'm implying that it should be done only if they want to do so?
>>33073788Isn't that technically き゜?
>>33073826kanjis are radicals. you learn radicals by learning kanji
>>33073815You're actually really close, good job! You missed a particle, so I fixed it here for you but you are good to ask it now. 君の友達はビーチに齎すのが好きですかね?
>>33073676is kyarubin a bbc user
>>33073666Do you even know how many cognates there are between English and German? You're supporting his point if anything
君の友達はビーチに連れてかい
>>33073842Ok I feel good about that. Can you briefly say why the no particle is used here? It's not a possessive particle in this case right? I know the ね is prompting a response.
>>33073880に says it's the place where you're verbing
>>33073880It turns it into a full clause being asked, and nounificates it so that it becomes the entire concept being asked instead of if they just like it in general
>>33073826A bit, because "radicals" doesn't cover every part of every kanji. The word primitives is used instead, because some kanji aren't radicals but are used as part of other kanji. Search up RTK, as it helps you remember kanji by the primitives that form it.
>>33073894Yeah I had that in my original post. I'm asking about the の directly before が

>>33074531nah just watch anime and use wanikani
>>33074531golden
>>33074531are there even 1000 words in N5?also I know this is a joke but I don't know how people can stand wanikani, by the time you get to the paywall you would get to the paywall you'd already know most of the words that it was teaching you because it's so slow

>>33074659冗談はない、黒人ら
>>33074678by the time you got to 3 weeks you would still be learning really basic stuff is what I mean, you'd have already encountered it in native content or core or whatever else you're doing on the side. if you already know any kanji you'll basically be wasting time doing nothing for multiple weeks. and it's not like wanikani's vocab section is useful, it doesn't make any effort to teach you what the word actually means past remembering the keyword>>33074679kanji.garden exists, it's pretty similar and it still has a paywall but you have a free month to binge as many kanji as you feel comfortable with and you can skip 大 and such. it's pretty much wanikani but better, I'd recommend that if you don't want to use a kanji flashcard deck which are free
>>33074718what do you mean? there's example sentences for vocab and multiple keywords to suggest nuance.

i read 15 pages of manga today :3 (mostly pictures, steel ball run chapter 1)
>>33074678also since you asked I learned 20 kanji a day alongside 40 words in core, so I guess that would have been ~600 kanji and 1200 words in 3 weeks. that's just the number I chose, you could pick whatever you want. I'm sure it's a lot more than you'd learn in that timespan in wanikani regardless>>33074743I mean thishttps://www.wanikani.com/kanji/%E6%AC%84https://www.wanikani.com/vocabulary/%E6%AC%84The only indication at all of what 欄 actually means is the single example sentence, which is left for you to interpret. You would learn more about the kanji in the 5 seconds you spend reading the english jisho definition the first time you encounter it in content. This is frequent in their vocab.

I started doing sentence mining for a month and I realized that my immersion isn't as good as it used to be, now everything I do is watch anime with japanese subs to get 10 1T phrases, it takes a lot of time for me to find good sentences, should I just reduce the number of cards a day so I get more immersion or I just keep doing this? I know that watching a show with the target language is good, but ONLY doing it makes me a little unsure if I'm going to have good progress.Am I doing something wrong? I need to watch between 4 to 6 hours a day to make 10 cards, I don't know if I will get easier over time. Because of this 4 to 6 hours I don't make only listening or only reading, I'm getting worried.

>>33082750>if you're in so much pain you need morphinethis is the flaw in ur argument, the assumption that opioids are prescribed only when the pain is bad enough that it warrants it. this is not the case in the US, there is a big problem with over prescription hence the opioid crisis that's been going on for years now.
switched my anilist to 3 point ratings, dont wanna have to worry about meaningless arbitrary numbersokay, meh, and dogshit are all the categories i need
yeah they put me on some good shit after i got hit by that truck, i was fucked up on that stuff man wish i had more
yah pretty much the reason theres a opioid problem is bc big pharma paid a lot of medical professionals to prescribe their productsthink of it like how big tobacco got ppl smoking cigs but in a much more sinister way since this is just ppl tryin to get medical carenever go to the doctor bros they dont care about youid sooner go to some toothless tribal witch doctor in the plains of africa because i think they are more likely to try to actually help
>>33082907literal double digits iq. if that is true then even if you add another less potent painkiller they will still be prescribed opioids so you've literally solved nothing
new misa video lets gooooooooooooohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4tz4HNSIas
>>33082956it is true the big manufacturers of these opioids ppl were getting pumped into them are getting sued to fuck and its a fact they incentivized physicians to prescribe them
>>33082945lmfao add this to the cringe comp analcream>>33082976this is literally incoherent
theyll get out of it somehow bc much like wallstreet k**es and their k**e cronies always win>>33082995its literally the truth its documented at this point lol
>>33082945>never go to the doctor bros they dont care about youthis, first they define a disease that affects 2/3 of the population, a medication that does pretty much nothing, and then urge doctors to put everyone on ithttps://youtu.be/2IphVAOtqYk

dno either fsn or sengoku rance i forget
>>33083020if doctors are liars why should i listen to this doctor on youtube?
>>33082956no because with more people being aware of the issues with opioids nowadays and that weed can be enough for certain levels of pain more people request to not be prescribed opioids if possible. obviously there is a need for some sort of reform of the entire prescription process and the influence big pharma has on it but giving end patients the option to have some sort of agency over what they're prescribed isn't a bad thing. weed obviously isn't a wholesale solution to the issue and opioids will be in use for the foreseeable future especially for bad pain. but weed has its place in the whole thing. i work in a space tangential to this whole thing and the amount of anecdotal info i've gotten from patients is staggering.
>>33083003>its literally the truth its documented at this point lolnot my point but you're literally to retarded to understand>>33083020you can't use the argument that doctors are bad when you're trying to explain why having weed as a painkiller doctors can give you is a good thing, cause it's the doctors that would be giving you the weed or the opioids anyway
>>33083098if they can not be prescribed opioids they could be prescribed a tested painkiller instead of the untested weed, holy shit we're literally going in circles here

know but i know people addicted to weed and i want them hanged because they're degenerate disgusting fucks
>>33083020the guys is right but also wrong, definitely a push from big pharma to overprescribe things and get that medical insurance moneyhowever osteoporosis is a bad thing and high cholesterol or high blood pressure can literally kill you

>>33083205>there isn't much beyond tylenol and ibuprofen in terms of non-opioid pain managementlots of different kinds of anti-depressants have been repurposed as pain medications they give ssris to treat fibromyalgia. no-one in a first world country outside the us is being prescribed opiods first line these days.

>>33083404still sucking ass although not that major anymore.usually understand a decent part of more everyday dramas and anime (weird analyzing tool usually gives me about 75% line readabilty)but i got this banking drama that's more like at a 30% probably due to all the long ass kanji words related to that that kind of topicso i'm wondering if just letting it run with subs and minimal pausing it'd still be somewhat beneficial because looking up all the words would probably turn it into a long ass slide show
>>33083480
>>33083468i threw up my hands at that last post
>>33083480are you also the same guy who wants to behead ciaran
>>33083509is it really fun watching stuff where u dont understand 70% of it lol when i was starting i just put stuff that was too hard for me in my backlog and came back to it when it was more appropriate to my level. as for whether it'd be beneficial, u aren't going to get a straightforward answer here. some people think pausing is good some people think its retarded, just do what u feel is right it doesn't matter too much in the end cause you'll still be good after ur 5000 hours of input anyways
>>33083453>>33083453it seems like both of you don't quite understand that if the doctors are going to prescribe opioids they are going to prescribe them regardless of what other painkillers there are otherwise they would've prescribed the other painkillers in the first place. adding weed to their options doesn't mean that doctors won't prescribe opioids since there are already alternatives
>>33083545yeah thats me, im quite unwell i'll admit that much though my cause is just regardless
>>33083566you wouldnt do shit irl ファッヘラくん

>>33083552yeah, true. probably not. but if it's done well just watching it can be kinda engaging, too. maybe.but yeah i mean just listening to shit should still train the ear, right? so at least might help with that. but yeah, i'll just watching something easier.
>>33083599i wouldnt cause i dont want to go to jail but hypothetically if there were no consequences to be had i 100% would
>>33083609I mean there wasn't really the doctors prescribed it despite there likely being ways around it. but that's an issue with the doctors and has nothing to do with weed.
