I played Signal, a DS game. MC's a newbie magazine article writer covering a racing team so like, expect the sound of tires squealing ad nauseum. I got surprised that Kondou Takashi voiced one of the characters as he sounded different from his Majima voice in Chou no Doku. Only two out of the eight guys are dependable among the male characters for me.

Playing Meiji Tokyo Renka Full Moon. It's pretty fun overall but the way that two route share a common story is kind of annoying and sometimes doesn't make too much sense in terms of romance.
The Japanese was surprisingly easy for a "historical" game. I guess it's because of how lighthearted the game is.

i'm currently going through steam prison and I'm actually having a lot of fun with it. I guess the biggest flaw is how drastically characters change in different routes. A lot of motivations are really terrible and characters tend to become really flat and unbelievable, but this shit is really common in otome stuff so it's not even a real complaint. The routes themselves seem to be very uneventful as well and end rather quickly but in a way it's find the way it is since none of them overstay their welcome. The bad and other endings are pretty enjoyable as well.

I wouldn't call it a bad game but it's nothing special either. It's been a while since I've been able to keep my concentration on a vn and stay hooked. I guess I mostly like the world and setting more than the actual characters.

Also I find Cyrus hilarious, I really should have kept count of the amount of times she was almost raped.

Well it's somewhat believable considering her upbringing and where shes from. The heights were extremely isolated and enforced social behaviors very strictly. She came from a sheltered life where the church basically decided everything in her life and she was a cog in the machine to uphold the status quo. It's against the law to show public affection to anybody other than your designated partner, and even then married couples would only ever hold hands in public. Her mom also babied her and never actually prepared herself to become a proper lady in society.

She's a really massive dork and it adds a lot to her cute factor. Cyrus overall is the most interesting character in the entire game imo. A lot of the boys are just really flat and unbelievable.

I think the whole thing's affected by how ero is usually made though; almost all of it will be focused on the bottom, due to different access points and the poses like you said, but the top is usually just a vehicle for the bottom to get off and not much else. I think sex ed was supposed to be a family issue, but the concept of love was banned outside of marriage in the heights so it made sense she had no real idea about human affection. Even if she saw people kissing in public she wouldn't know what it meant since she had no exposure to concepts. She also actively avoided discussions about the marriage with her family and devoted most of her life to her career so in her eyes the law was absolute. Don't forget that romance novels and porn was illegal in the heights so even if she knew about their existence she would stay away from it. She was technically the model citizen in the heights except for her tomboyish traits. She's probably on the more extreme side but it's mostly her fault that she was left in the dark about sex, but it seems that was the way the church wanted to shape society in the heights.

She also thought babies came from the church because technically they did. The church was in charge of managing eugenics and throwing away unwanted children, so if she had no idea about sex then it was a reasonable conclusion for her since she was entirely clueless and held the church in high regards.

Also she had too much pride to eat from the hounds, she would rather die than submit. She was also suspicious about the drugs at the start and said she would only take them if she started to feel ill. Her constantly talking shit is very in line with her character, she thinks her ideals of justice hold weight in the depths but she is constantly proven wrong again and again. She is an oblivious princess that struggles to face reality.

I'm probably making the game sounds way more DEEP than it actually is but these are my observations about her character. The game had enough decent world building and good art to keep my interest.

Honestly, Ozmafia isn't worth it if you want sweet vanilla or comfy. The main trio have "cheating" routes where you leave your main guy for one of the other two and it's required for 100%. Robin's route reads like a mistress and cheating husband fantasy, brothel route is pure smut, Kyrie is for doM girls, and there's a few post-sex scenes with biting and scratching if you're into that. On top of that, Soh and Hamelin's routes don't exactly end very happily. The true ending sort of ruins Caesar's route considering his true nature and it also ruins Soh's character. These are my personal complaints as I'm mostly a vanillafag but the overall consensus is the true ending sucks ass and there's a lot of forced drama. You might like the extra scenes that get added into routes after beating them. Some are pretty cute.

Ryuubi's route is honestly pretty shitty for a "canon route". Doesn't help that he's pretty bland too, his saving grace is probably his adult form and maybe Ishida. Technically any game is doable at a basic level, but if the language is difficult it will take a long time to figure out what's going on, possibly too long to consider it worth playing.

If you've got a text hooker working the main problem is probably going to be grammar, but Juuzaengi is a PSP game so unless VNreader works the only other option I know of is an OCR program which won't be as accurate and you'll still have to look up kanji from time to time.

I'd say that in the first game, Ryuubi and Cao Cao are the main routes, with Ryuubi being the cat route and Cao Cao delivering the meaty parts of the war and worldbuilding. Cao Cao's route is probably the most "complete" in the second game too, being the marriage/nation building one. But yeah, Kan'u/Guan Yu really shines with the generals.

Yeah Juuzaengi has dual main heroes. Though the bias is clearly with Ryuubi. Sousou, Ryuubi and Chouun's routes probably ended up being the most important ones though. Ryuubi focusing on the truth behind the Juuza and Sousou focusing on war and his identity as you said, while Chouun focusing on Kan'u's parentage. Chouhi, Chouryou and Kakouton's routes have always felt self-contained in the game though the latter is probably my favourite route with it comes to romance. I'm actually surprised Kan'u doesn't find out who her parents are in the second game. Probably because her dad and Seihei are already dead at that point there's no other way to find information. I still fucking have no idea why Seihei is there considering the second game continues from Ryuubi's route and he died there iirc I guess they just used the plot of his route as the base story.

Ryuubi's route base was probably chosen as a compromise, since it was both one of the main routes in the first game and also relatively inconsequential in a way Sousou's wasn't (that guy's fate and mental health affects the whole continent). Funnily enough, the manga adaptation decided that Sousou's route was canon.

I wouldn't say the his route is inconsequential though since it has the most focus around the Maozoku and the game's story treating him as the figure that made Kan'u who she is now. The plot of his route is also the easiest to make a sequel of considering how things ended and if one reads 2's common route between the lines it's still a Ryuubi thing. My only problem with Ryuubi's route is it suffers from the trope that main boys usually get which assumes that the heroine has already belonged/liked the guy since the beginning. Which is probably why their romance felt half-assed for me (up until the sequel) because it feels like Kan'u treats him like her little brother even though the texts says she's already loved him back then (the part where Kan'u kept shouting nothing but his name while Ryuubi is having a long-winded confession in 2 annoyed the crap out of me). The other boys didn't get this treatment that's why there's more room for development which made their routes much better in comparison to Ryuubi's.

Well, that was intentional - his mental and physical regression kept him a child for so long Kan'u had trouble seeing him as anything else. He's also immature and poorly adjusted because of it, so that complicated things further.

It's still a fairly interesting route and relationship, but yeah, it's one of the weakest. I'd say Sousou's side of the conflict also has more interesting characters and plotlines than Maozoku's, so that's also a factor.

Each character gets 3 ends (best, good and bad) that have CGs. His bad end is some 3P end where he tries to save the MC from Dante because Dante went to pick her up to give her protection but when he realized he's in a losing battle, he uses the MC as a meat shield to protect himself. His character can be summed up to "I did it just because". People probably loved him because he's a psychopath with a sexy voice, his route is the smuttiest too. Well to be fair, you're actually given a reason to dislike the other characters since they also did terrible stuff in the other bad ends where they went insane.

To add some bonus to that, her best friend, Elena, gets raped and drugged by Lee (Yang's subordinate) in his bad ends (she also gets raped by her subordinates) and was planned to be shipped in some country where they buy women as slaves. I naturally built up my listening comprehension by watching anime throughout my childhood years, but games in general were my biggest motivators to learn moon runes.
I still use it for various /jp/ hobbies obviously, and also for getting info sooner, avoiding translation drama, twice the memes, accessing doujin content you know will never get translated, seiyuu web radio, dumb youtube content, etc.
