All AKB sub groups and related *48 groups welcome.

Request Hour Set List Best 100 2013 is now over.

Day 1 had Pareo wa Emerald, River, Beginner, Ponytail to Shushu and Kaze Wa Fuite all ranking around the 80s.

Day 2 came with Sakura no Hanabiratachi in the 60s and Flying Get in the 50s. It also saw the announcement of TGSK stepping down from the AKB48 theater manager position, to take the general *48 group theater manager position. Now Yuasa Hiroshi (SKE) is overseeing AKB48, Shiba Tomoya (Team K) SKE48, Kaneko Tsuyoshi NMB and Ozaki Mitsuru HKT.

Day 3 had Ogoe Diamond, Everyday Katyusha, a band-less version of Give Me Five, Pioneer, Kataomoi Finally, Manatsu no Sounds Good and Iiwake Maybe.
Day 3 also came with two announcements: A new AKB documentary called No Flower Without Rain, and a 4-day series of concerts at the Budokan between the 25th and 28th of april, with a twist: one concert per 48 group. SKE will have its concert the 25th, NMB the 26th, HKT and AKB the 27th, and the whole *48 family on the 28th.

Day 4 saw Heavy Rotation falling to 4th place, with Ue Kara Mariko taking 3rd place and Kiseki wa Maniawanai (Sae's center position) on second place. There was no song on first place, so Kiseki wa Maniawanai is also considered as #1.

Hakata Hyakkaten S2 has started airing, with Rena as the guest of the first episode.

And last but not least, Shojiki Shogi is coming back in the next AKBINGO, with Milky vs Saya-nee and Sakura vs Haruppi.

I like MomoClo but I see them more as 'performers'. I would go to their concerts and buy their singles but probably not follow them. I find the *48 girls more pleasing to the eyes (and yes that is shallow) and generally with better personalities especially when they're together.

The only realistic competition outside of the *48 family I see for me is momoclo, but i don't think they have the variety that *48 can offer me. This misses the point though. AKB fans are more loyal than Kpop fans. You think if they charged $10 a head to view the concerts, all of the kpop viewers would pay? I'd ballpark maybe 10-20% max would pay whereas a number as high as 80% for the AKB stream wouldn't be completely outlandish.

I like AKB48 but there is as much media in Kpop as there is in Jpop. If you actually follow a group e.g. SNSD, you'll realize that the fans love them just as wotas love *48. They also have their own shows, do crazy stuff and go on to talk shows. Actually, kpop fans take it to another level : do you see fancams of *48 girl? no. But you have that in Kpop. So yes they do give a shit about their personalities and it's a bonus that they are pretty. And at least their fanbase is not made up of (mostly) creepy men and they don't have to resort to bikini shots.

Well the thing is with variety shows and stuff a lot of shit is lost in translation. Like look at any of the old AKBINGO! episodes and you see tons of references to Japanese comedians and shit that make 0 sense in a vacuum. Fan translators usually just make shit up or assume that you know what the reference is pointing to so it's not usually a huge problem but for an official translation they would need to figure out a better way to translate things.

And this isn't even approaching how to deal with all the fucking puns. As someone who has been asked by friends to translate certain things I can say from experience that it's a huge pain in the ass if there are adlib segments because those ALWAYS have puns or references to famous gags.

AKB semi-newfag here. I've liked AKB48 for a couple years now, but only as a casualfag. I know the main senbatsu, some barebones basics about their personalities and such (think I like Yuki, Mayu and Sashi the most), and seen various clips of stuff like Shojiki Shogi and what not.

Read up on it before spreading false information. I'm tired as fuck so this could be somewhat off, but it went along the lines of there were 2 groups of girls with different offences (meeting in konbini vs. meeting in a hotel foom), and they were treated differently.
