You should read on. The trance producers in Goa were outside newage tourists from the west. It isn't mentioned in the article, but the bulk of them came from Israel. The Hebrew all over the Theta Complex albums is a nod to this.

Psy/Acid/Goa are basically the same subgenre of trance with slightly different cultural overtones. The main trait is the heavy use of Acid synths.

Techno subgenres are mostly stupid and don't make any sense; you shouldn't really take them very seriously.
