Post your IP if you are hosting followed by world location (with continent and area is ok, I.E Western europe) and your own tier if you feel like to.

About the game:

(shamelessly copied from the wiki)

Touhou Hisoutensoku is the third fighting game in the Touhou Project and like its predecessors, Immaterial and Missing Power and Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, Touhou Hisoutensoku is a collaboration between ZUN and Twilight Frontier. Due to that collaboration, its art was drawn by Alphes and the music was composed by U2 Akiyama, both from Twilight Frontier.

Download link:

Hisoutensoku + 1.10 patch + english patch:

http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6424899/Touhou_Hisoutensoku_12.3___1.10___English_Patch

For playing online it's recommended to have the latest version, 1.10a which you can find the patches for here:

http://hisouten.koumakan.jp/

SWR + English patch:

http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6512402/Touhou_10.5_Scarlet_Weather_Rhapsody___ENG

Before playing online please close any process that uses bandwith to avoid lag, also try to play with people close to your area if possible.

Frame data and match ups are just as important in any other fighting game if you actually want to be good.

The soku community is quite small and doesn't have a real competitive scene in the west so you're fine playing casually and just learning bnbs if you are a quick learner. If you don't have fundamentals, it would still be quite hard to win a few matches on your first month or so.

Not really. And all the advice I've gotten was pretty much just, "live in training mode and get good fundamentals."

But really, the only way you can get better is to play it a lot and watch match videos. Maybe some tourneyfag here would be able to chime in on training mode. How much should you even be using training mode? I think the people saying that I need to live in it are being a little bit over the top.

>> No.9982896

Just play against people.
Training mode is to try stuff and come up with new stuff. Play arcade to get your hitconfirms straight. Maybe you'll work on your execution too but your main focus should be on netplay after you got the basics.

>> No.9982944

>>9982841
Training mode is good for discovering and practicing combos. It's somewhat useful to practicing blockstrings, but it's hard to test if a string is really tight without someone highjumping or mashing on the other side.

Training mode has it's uses, but I've found the best way to learn is to play many matches against different players. As you play, just try to understand why something is working or not working and then start adjusting your play accordingly.

You get fundamentals from playing against other people, not from training mode. For me, fundamentals is simply knowing what you want to do in different situations during the game.

Good Japanese Udonge don't dash while the opponent is down to SUP, because that's fucking obvious. They do tricks like flight lag into the ground in the middle of an exchange, or other spacing techniques to force an awkward situation where they can SUP and it's not just 50/50. You don't even need to set up anything on the screen. Your entire gameplay is based on staying within j2a range and hitting them with random j2as and 6cs.

The only complex part is learning how to escape pressure, but really all characters have to deal with that.

Would being in New York or Maine matter? It's right next door.
I've played people from Florida just fine. As long as you're EC, delay will be fine.
Unless you have some kind of garbage ISP.

No big deal. Just as long as you don't mind that I had to turn off my LoL client. Spectator mode helps pass time but takes up so much bandwidth, derp.

Still hosting, nights young and whatnot.
