If you order from Sears you can choose to have it labelled as a gift so it doesn't say what it is on the package. In addition to that method, you can also pick it up at the store and no one will know whats in the package, that way you can avoid mail coming to your house. I had suggested the sears method earlier because when I was thinking of this I needed it to be on the down-low.

Buy them online. Chinese wholesale sites and the local auction site are all at your disposal.

you can get a PO box at the post office or a mailbox at the UPS store. there are also stores like postal annex who can rent you storage (UPS/post office usually only hold for their particular services). yeah, it costs more, but if your family is a bunch of douches and opens your mail it'll be worth it. thankfully mine does nothing more than toss the package inside the house.

also as far as timing the postal worker in my area always comes around noon and drops off packages with the rest of the mail. if it needs a signature and you're unavailable he'll leave a slip that says that you can pick up the package the day after. technically you're supposed to be the one to get the package but there's a field that says an authorized agent can pick it up for you (and then your family can forge your signature and pick it up if they're really up to be total douches).

ups has an option where you pay more and they'll let you select a time window. mine almost always ditches packages on the porch but occasionally if a direct signature (you) is required he'll take it back. you can request for a hold at facility (ups store/warehouse) and then you pick it up at your convenience. otherwise they try to deliver the day after. fedex is the same where you can call for a hold at facility or a redelivery. for both ups and fedex they will let you schedule a delivery day but usually only after they have tried to deliver once. like if they tried on a monday and you won't be available til friday you can call and ask for friday.
