I don't like the direction that our society is going in and I will abstain from work and steal/pirate as much as possible so that I don't support the growth of this society.

Either simplify things so that people don't have to work for over half their life in order to maintain our modern comforts and produce all of these gadgets and pieces of technology that so many people buy or just find some way to make robots and have them do everything.

You can't sacrifice the happiness and lives of people in order to sustain this level of comfort that we know. I don't need air conditioning, the internet, cars, or sources of power other than solar. I would gladly throw all of that away if our society could revert back to simpler times.

I won't do this meaningless work though. Working for some gigantic global business to produce products like I'm some kind of assembly line robot. The work that most people have to do in our society is just disgustingly mindnumbing. Human beings should not have to do such soul sucking labor.

>> No.9964919

I don't want to work. Whenever I think of working for someone, I think of how assburgerly it would go, all the awkward situations. I don't know how I am supposed to act in a work environment. and I absolutely don't want anyone to tell me in any way how to do things.

Oh the horrors when in high school you were forced to apply to a job of your choice and work there for a week. Never again.

>> No.9964920

I don't mind the concept of work or education, but in this fucking country, in this era, in this society, I hate even considering the kinds of jobs I would have to do, bowing down and flipping burgers for coarse brainless savages working a 9-to-5 that they don't deserve to better some rich fat guy in a skyscraper and they don't even realize it.

The only kind of work I can see myself getting is becoming a personal Meido for someone who is willing to put up with the world's bullshit and only devote myself to serving them, because FUCK serving the general populace, they're a bunch of shitlords drugged on bad shit.

I have just the thing for you fellas. Work doesn't have to suck.

What do you say?

>> No.9964940

I'd like to work if I could actually work. As in go in, sit down, do my job, and go home. I wouldn't have to communicate about anything non-job related, and if there's nothing to do for me, then I could go home.

There's no point in giving up 8+ hours of my life a day and only doing like 2 hours of work while not being able to go on 4chan or play games during downtime. I don't want to go to movies or parties with my coworkers or even talk to them outside of work. I'd already see them all day at work. They remind me of being at work. But you know they'd make your life hard if you didn't pretend to be interested in being friends with them.

Those images of people being made slaves in their cubicles all day and forced to work are awful but preferable to forced socialization all day, basically. I also don't want to travel around lot so I can't do things like being a repairman or whatever lets you only go out to do actual work.

Working from home is really the only option for someone like me, but coming up with some sort of trade that isn't done more efficiently by some industry is hard. About the only really marketable skill is being a internet celeb, making blogs and youtubes. Someone will find some way to industrialize that one day too I'll bet.

>> No.9964943

I think the work I do has some value and no one is getting rich off of me or telling me what to do. I also like what I actually do. However, simply being forced to do it all day makes me dislike it. I spend 8.5 hours at work + 2.5 driving and getting ready leaving me with next to nothing for myself. Plus, I'm usually to tired to do anything when I get home anyway.

My solution would be to simply shorten the work day. I am by far more efficient in the morning any way. I suspect I could do the same amount of work in about ~5 hours as I accomplish during the 8 simply from being more content and working harder. Plus, I already have loads of extra money because I have no time to spend it, so I wouldn't mind taking the pay cut.

You guys seem to be repulsed by the idea that business owners got the luckier slot in life than you. But that's not the plus of being a businessman. It's actually a downside: you need to have luck, make risky decisions that could bankrupt you for life, learn to navigate the legal system, meet the right people and manipulate others. That sounds just way too unpleasant unless your luck is so great (rich parents) that you can avoid all the nasty bits. But can you picture a normal person like yourself living such a life just for money?

The path of money is the quick and risky path for people who have no talents. It's like a casino that takes up half your life. It's probably pointless to rage at them because most of them fail and are misguided fools. The smart people earn enough to live comfortably and do it the safe way, knowing that they can never fail catastrophically and their real treasure, their intellect, can not be taken away by fluctuations in the market. Also, they can challenge themselves with things far more fascinating than throwing dice and office politics.

These are the things that make me despise work. Even if I don't have to deal with these problems personally I still hate that the whole system works like this.

This social networking bullshit. I hate how disingenuous human communication is. Whether you're the boss, the employee, or some unemployed person who interacts with humans from time to time it's still all basically the same. Everybody puts on this facade of politeness and they pretend to like each other, but they're only talking to each other to expand their social networks so that they can hopefully be able to use this person in the future.

The whole thing is disgusting and it's every where, manipulation and selfishness is at the core of human existence. People are only kind to each other for selfish ulterior motives.

The world isn't too rough, it's just humans.

I love animals, nature, and I enjoy working with my hands. Every part of this world is beautiful except for humans, we're a blight on this wonderful planet and interacting with other humans is some of the most torturous things that I have ever done in life.

There's no human in the world that doesn't lie constantly. Just basic social interaction is navigating through layers of deception. Dogs aren't like this, I can spend time with a dog and I know exactly where I stand with him, there's no lies there. Most other animals are like this, but humans are unique in how cruelty and deceitfulness is practically hardwired into us from birth.

We're fucking evil and I would love to check out of this horror show and go live with the other animals, but there are increasingly few areas left in the world that humans haven't infested with their presence. With the exception of Antarctica I don't think there's a single spot of land on this planet that isn't claimed by some human.

> wanting to learn math?
You ever feel ecstatic when you finally defeat a difficult video game boss, while frustrated when something is obviously too difficult for you? Or how you face level 40 monsters if you choose to go into the desert, but only level 20 monsters if you choose to go into the forest? Doesn't matter if it's maths or physics or computer science. You pick the things that are slightly above your level, yet you can deal with. Not things that are out of your reach or too easy that they're boring. And NEVER read the solution at once. Read each line, then see if you can solve it with the new hint. As long as you keep doing that, you will learn and have fun doing it. If you're studying with friends, discussing with them will also be awesome since you probably trip over the same things.

And fortunately of all the sciences math also happens to be the most fascinating, because you don't need a lab to verify things or have to memorize 9000 standards and paradigms (like in IT). You can prove everything yourself and see if mathematicians are lying to you. Axioms and definitions are something people make up and assume, but every theorem that follows such assumptions can be proven. Theorems aren't like cheap puzzles your teacher or the workbook made up. They are mostly things that naturally arise. Proving them is the most fascinating part of mathematics. In fact, there were only 2 theorems I couldn't prove because they were borrowed from advanced mathematics.

Nature can be incredibly challenging and dangerous, but it's not insidious. That's the difference here.

Humans will smile to your face and then slit your throat the second they get a chance. Animals don't do that. You can read animals and understand what they're thinking, what you see is what you get with an animal, but that's not how it is with humans.

If you look at humans from a distance you might see the white picket fences and the pretty suburban homes, the smiling happy families, business men being polite to each other, politicians shaking hands, but it's all a lie. Underneath those masks are cruel and evil people who would stab each other in the back to get an advantage in life. Every political leader talks about peace and they say all the proper politically correct things, but simultaneously they're giving out the orders to manufacture weapons that can destroy several hundred thousand people in a blink of an eye. It's like this every where, we always say one thing and do the opposite.

What kind of species are we? Human history is nothing but an incredibly long story of deceit, betrayal, and mass destruction, we really are pure evil.

The smiling part is the whole point though. There's plenty of animals that will brutally rip you apart, there's no doubt about that, but there's no deception in what they do.

Bears don't smile and hug you so you drop your guard and then suddenly rip your throat out. They'll just come right out and kill you. That's perfectly fine because it's honest, that's just what bears do when you get too close to them and you can't expect much else.

They shouldn't have tried to tame a wild animal. It's playing with fire. It's in the lion's nature for it to rip them apart, they might have been able to distract it for many years with big pieces of meat, but eventually something will trigger the lion and it's going to rip them apart.

There's a reason why you don't try to raise wild wolves. It just doesn't work. Dogs are docile and loyal because we domesticated them after many years of selective breeding and their loyalty is part of their nature at this point.

It's safe to have a pet dog because these are not wild animals, but trying to tame a lion is just asking to get your face ripped off. The lion didn't do anything wrong, it just acted like a lion. It's not like he was lying the whole time and pretending to be tame so that he could attack the people at the show several years later, it's not capable of the higher level thought that kind of deception would require.

>we really are pure evil.
And we also possess incredible ingenuity and intellect that no animal can dream of. And that while individually we are cowardly, malleable and selfish, as a collective whole we long for equality, justice and happiness. And that we have the art of history that allows us to look back and grow up as a whole (except for the countries that burn books and have no such things). And that among us there will always be the few that are wise and righteous and their words, when properly heeded, result in a better world for all. Even your distaste of dishonesty and evil is strictly a human moral value that our ancestors have wisely decided to cultivate.
Not to mention that information and entertainment are practically free in this day and age. They certainly give you a new meaning to your mostly uneventful life. Last but not least, some people have seen to it that you can live in a country where you can rant about not wanting to deal with the real world instead of having to be out there and compete with outlaws and wild animals every day. So you hate dishonesty? Say that out loud. Your only problem is that you still want to be accepted by all. That is futile. Maybe you will discover that you're also a hypocrite as you resort to lying. But at least now you know to fix it.

Humans are still changing, but we're going in the worst directions possible.

Just look around. Humans are being selectively bred in their own way. We encourage the traits that society finds most useful while discouraging the ones that aren't useful. For example, humans used to be a lot more honest a long time ago. We were more openly violent but we are also honest.

Modern society doesn't encourage those traits and people who are the stereotypical brute are not going to get ahead in life anymore. Now we have a world where passive aggression, conniving behavior, lying, and manipulation will get you ahead in life.

Hell, just look at Japan. I can't think of any other human society that lies so much. The entire structure of their language is rooted in deceit. Everything they say is insincere and excessively polite, I don't even know if it's possible for the Japanese language to express an opinion in a completely honest way without having their words slathered with honorifics and feigned politeness.

In what time period? If you mean today then sure, all of our leaders are cowardly. It's been like this for a long time, but it wasn't always like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lVyWmIbbg4

Look at the gorillas for example. They don't need to kill each other, but when the leader's authority is challenged they exert their dominance and one of them gets intimidated and runs off.

If you watch the political debates on television then you can see them constantly trying to suppress this. During some of the heated portions of the debates it looks like they're right about to get up into each other's faces, but they maintain that facade of being polite because that's the image that leaders need to give off now. It's just a massive lie though, they both want to rip each other apart but they still smile and shake each other's hands for the camera.

I have a NEET- health related question.

I have the habit to always have the lights turned off in my room while sitting in front of my computer and I'm worried about damaging my eye- sight by doing this.
Should I rather use a dark background over the usual white one?
Can you please give me some advice which style I should use, /jp/?

To allow the market mechanism to be sole director of the fate of human beings and their natural environment, indeed, even of the amount and use of purchasing power, would result in the demolition of society. For the alleged commodity "labor power" cannot be shoved about, used indiscriminately, or even left unused, without affecting also the human individual who happens to be the bearer of this peculiar commodity. In disposing of a man's labor power the system would, incidentally, dispose of the physical, psychological, and moral entity "man" attached to that tag. Robbed of the protective covering of cultural institutions, human beings would perish from the effects of social exposure; they would die as the victims of acute social dislocation through vice, perversion, crime, and starvation. Nature would be reduced to its elements, neighborhoods and landscapes defiled, rivers polluted, military safety jeopardized, the power to produce food and raw materials destroyed -- from Karl Polanyi's The Great Transformation (1944)

>And we kinda respect human lives

How so?

I see a lot of political posturing and a lot of people pretending to care, but then I look at the death tolls in these meaningless wars that we're in and it's obvious they don't give a shit about human lives at all.

What frightens me is that humanity is going to continue advancing more and more, making even more powerful weapons, and we're already at the point where we can't just run away anymore. I could hop off this crazy train before it flies off the tracks and go bunker down in some forest in the middle of no where, but it won't make a difference when the bombs go off and the entire planet is an irradiated wasteland.

Humanity is fucked and it's pretty clear that complete self-destruction is the path that we are inevitably heading towards, but we have become so powerful that we're going to take everything else down with us in the process.

Humanity is just too powerful. If we just stayed as stupid primitive brutes then we wouldn't have gotten this far and that's actually for the best. Our intelligence has given us a lot of wonderful things, but it's also the same thing that's going to ensure the extinction of not only humanity but almost every living creature on earth as well.

It's inevitable to have your eyesight worsen from a NEET lifestyle. Dark room, boarded windows. That's the style almost everyone prefers. You're lucky if you don't care about that, because then you could just let light come into your room through your windows or from an artificial sort. As for myself, though I'm not fundamentally opposed to my NEETdom or the hikkiNEET in general, I consider it a sub-optimal state of being. Perhaps necessary and to be appreciated, like darkness to light, but it is not a positive.

This world is filled with horrible people, myself included. Pretty much everything is depressing, people are disgusting, life is painful, western society is fucking messed up, shitskins are a worthless cancer that need to be wiped out, whites are turning into vile mindless blobs, the majority of asians are fucking lifeless tools, ads are fucking everywhere, consumerism has gotten so bad that people don't even realise that they're mindlessly buying shit and will attack you if you question it; everything just fucking sucks.

Dropping out of college was probably the best thing I ever did.
Sure, I'm nowhere near as smart as I am now, and sure, I wasted the free scholarship and the free private school education, but at least I'm not stuck living such a mediocre and dull life.

I hated school, I hated work, I hated being around people. Reality is depressing, and the internet isn't much better these days.

I literally cannot think of one good reason to spend half my life suffering and being bored just to be able to spend a few hours on the net and sleep.
Why not spend all of my time recreationally? Why not avoid reality and painful things? Nothing good can come out of a mediocre life, nothing good can come out of pain without reward.

I'm not quite sure. I don't think we're developed enough to have just one government, honestly.
I think we'd be better off living in zones that are better suited towards certain groups.

Like, a labour/manufacturing zone for the poor/unintelligent, a science/research zone for those with good genetics and higher IQs. Perhaps a military zone for defense. An agriculture zone, obviously. And a neutral zone where the people only pay taxes for mandatory things like defense, and can optionally pay taxes for a healthcare system.

The people ruling would each have their own departments in zones, and they'd all come together to decide how to run things without interfering too much with the lives of their people.

I'm not sure, though. I don't really know the specifics when it comes to large scale politics, I doubt anything like that would work with the way things are now.

Yes. Even Marx was a NEET

The NEET is as valuable as the 社会人 in true communism.

no matter what system exists there will always be power in someones hands. The trick is to make it so its a lot more difficult to obtain and use for your advantage. If you by law give all the power to someone there will certainly be more abuse of it than when its separated to entities that theoretically only hold power over themselves.
Theres no perfection in reality, just compromises.

Don't even bother replying to this thread if you cannot properly refute a point that has been made, jew shill.

I'm not anti-money though. Get a useful degree to get a good job to sustain a higher standard of living than what welfare provides here. I just wouldn't be able to fund my hobbies and enjoy myself with the handouts available. Simple enough. But keep in mind the individual tradeoff point (time for more/nicer material things) is subjective. There really is no absolute right or wrong there. Heck people like monks are content with virtually no possessions, others aren't even close.

A serious response that is. It's like those crazy people standing on the streets preaching about reptilian conspiracy; nobody is obligated to "refute a point" when we're dealing with a child.

Yes, but it doesn't take a fucking conspiracy theorist to realize that the current education system and economy is a fucking joke.

Furthermore, when you come into a board for discussion you're expected to know how to actually make a discussion instead of just stating your opinion like an idiot.

Exponential growth is cancer. Refusing to participate is a revolutionary act.

If I can find a job outside of the wageslave world, corporate fiefdoms, or ivory tower, then I will snatch it up in a heartbeat.

Thinking about working in hospice, somewhere that actually means something.
