Since we'd gone into sage.
Old thread: >>9835177

So, /jp/, what kind of aftermarket price would you say is reasonable for a figure like this? It was one of those conbini lottery prizes, so probably cheap(ish)ly made. I love that sculpt and pose, though.

I lucked out - just now found a 5000 buy it now with free shipping. Time to get a proxy on that.

I had no idea there was a GK with the tattered uniform; I'd never even seen it before. I love the picture the figure is based on, so if there's a battle-damaged version then so much the better. Time to start hunting for a real one.

Also, man, there are some hilariously derpy-looking bootlegs on that site.

I wish the shorts didn't look so silly with the rest of her gear. I think I'm going to buy it anyway.

Nitori looks pretty decent. I think Meiling could have been done much better. I mean what the fuck is she doing, getting ready to throw a frontal high-kick and saluting someone at the same time?

>> No.9903368

>>9902640
unless your proxy has super cheap fees it's probably cheaper in the end to buy from mandarake since they'll be doing them -> you and not some guy -> them -> you. i've always had to pay the bank fee with all my proxy purchases so that's probably 300 x2 (since you're doing 2 separate payments) alone.

good luck finding a legit gk. i honestly don't even bother because most of them are limited in number so they get sold for stupid high prices. if it helps you any it's by 小抹香 (who romanize as comaccow). the sheryl nome tag at tthe blog has some in-progress shots. http://comaccow.exblog.jp/i11/

It's pretty obvious that she's about to salute her enemy for being a honorable opponent because the incoming frontal high-kick she's about to dish out will instant KO them. You would have to be blind not to see what she's doing.

>> No.9907433

>>9903286
To me, it looks like she's trying to look far away/observing the horiwon, hence the hand as a visor. And she's using her left leg to balance her weigh, since her body is obviously leaning (bottom right) and thus require adjustments to remain balanced.

Maybe she's airborne as well, that would explain the simplistic base, rippled clothes.

At the very least, the way her hair are depicted really vehiculate a clear sense of movement and mettle.

Her mouth is awful and I hope to god they didn't try to make a nose right above it, because that would be awfully fucked proportion, even with anime-type standards.
Due to that you can't really tell her expression: Is she doing some proactive guarding the gate ? Is she surprised by what she sees ? Or interested/amused by it ?

I wondered how the hell that hat was supposed to stay on her head, and had every expectation that it would get lost within a week after falling off three dozen times - but it stays perfectly positioned since the makers molded the underside to be the exact same texture as her hair. She has some rough patches in her paint, but most of them are barely visible on camera or unless you stare at her from millimeters away, and the biggest part is an uneven bit of the white border of the flag that I now realize is directly behind her when assembled so you can't see it anyway. Great detail on her buttons, the little medal on her chest, the one earring, just GREAT.

That won't help you too much though. Amiami don't weigh their figures beforehand and even then you should calculate at least 500y on top of what you would get for packaging and whatnot. It's usually pretty expensive.

Expert figs owner here.
Dont use EMS.
Stick with airmail.
There is actually not much difference between airmail and RSAL. On average, airmail is about 1.5k.
Anything more than 2kg or over the size limit, use SAL parcel.

the difference between airmail and EMS is just speed, right? I'm the guy who has only used EMS because I'm afraid it will shatter if I use anything else.

Airmail is fucking fast. <1week
You are talking about 2-3days vs 4days.
I dont know about insurance since the value will never exceed their limit.

i Dont know about your country but EMS parcels still get delivered by the same default mail company for my country. Ours also happens to be notoriously shit.

If you want the best care for your package you need to use a private courier like Fedex, UPS or DHL.
In some cases using those is a little bit cheaper as than EMS as well.

Word of caution: If someone offers DPD (Some EU stores like archonia offer them) do NOT use it. Yes their a private courier, yes they are cheap but every single package i received through them looked like it was put through a woodshredder and than used as a football.

in my experience (living in europe) EMS is a lot better than DHL
much faster and better tracking etc
EMS will also try to deliver again later if you're not home the first time

In Germany, as soon as the package is inside the country, it's DHL delivering it to your door, regardless of whether you ordered it via SAL, airmail or EMS. Maybe that's just a German thing though, considering DHL is part of the Deutsche Post.

Yeah, it's a German thing.
Also, doesn't DHL equates 100% chances of paying taxes ?

>> No.9939274

Here it seems to be that anyway. Germans are thorough and all.

Except for when Mandarake values a ¥5,000 fig at ¥1,000 and declares it as a gift. That was with registered SAL, though. In any case it was still opened by customs but they didn't charge me any tax and delivered it straight to my door (unlike if I did have to pay tax, I would have to drive the the customs office and pay it there before receiving the package).

I'll post pictures of it tomorrow. Getting a card reader in the morning because the chances of getting that fucking cable are zero.

Going to be the priciest fig I've ever bought. Hope it doesn't get mauled en-route and isn't delayed for like 4 months. But it's GSC so some delay won't be any surprise.

I'm guessing that means you have those on backorder right? Do you know how long it takes for them to get stock, or are those your first backorder items.

backorders usually take 1-2 weeks

both flan and raymoo were listed as preorder, so i think they were getting a new shipment of them sometime soon and its probably taking them a while. ive noticed a lot of 'late month' items get pushed back well into the next month.

I've never had a problem with figures. I don't get any lewd ones though. U.S. seems pretty lax unless you're importing some serious shit.

>>9939104
I've never used EMS. The figures I've purchased aren't all that expensive, and I'm always strapped for cash so I always pick SAL. It always arrives in perfect condition.

This is probably a dumb question, but where can I order hot glue?

It's not actually glue, is it? I don't want to ruin my models or anything, so it'd be nice if it just washed off...

Somehow I feel like this would get me hauled away...

So much want though, I'm kinda regretting finding out the awesome that is AmiAmi 'cause I would never even think about getting this on somewhere like J-list.
