Great game, I actually remember the exact time I bought it. I called my local store and asked if they had it, and the employee who answered the phone went and looked and said they didn't. I ended up going there later on that evening anyway because my parents had to go food shopping and the toy store was in the same plaza. I went into the store and they did have the game, it was just on top of the game display cases where the game consoles were because of the huge box. I ended up getting the game afterall.

You can sprint, but because enemies attack you no matter what your level is and there are few wide open areas, sprinting winds up more frustrating than walking. The inventory system is functionally the same exact thing. Battle mechanics are a little better- but the battle system isn't great in any mother game.

And if you want to get into secondary game mechanics, how is healing in hot springs that are in sewers/mansions/anywhere that hot springs shouldn't be, and saving and getting your money from frogs a better game mechanic than using a hospital or ATM to do the same things?

Not trying to be rude, but there's no argument for it being "better" beyond subjective preference.

what? you can just avoid them. i would actually say that this is more of a complaint for earthbound since you can only walk and enemies are faster than you..

it's a mother game... chill out? if anything, frogs are around everywhere and atm machines are only in specific places, atm are more scarce and less convenient...

there's a lot of better game design choices though...

I think the series is overrated as a whole but there is no denying that Earthbound is a masterpiece. My only with the game is that it's too easy and cab be beat in like a day.

Guys... I just saw giygas. Wow. I haven;t been so disturbed by anything in a videogame, or even in real life. I never even played Mother 3, but I could hardly watch the entire video... Truely the most horrifying bossfight ever.
