The stigma of having grades and test scores posted in public would have motivated me to always do my best in school. I would be going to a great college as a result, and my parents' harsh upbringing would have made me well-suited for Japanese society.

On one hand, living in Japan would probably be a lot better than living where I am right now. On the other hand, Japanese society is oppressive and Japanese people all have a herd mentality.

I guess the pros outweigh the cons in this one. Then again there is nothing I can do about it unless I manage to live in Japan somehow, which is something I'm not very keen to do as a non-Japanese.
