Quite simple really. Just get Melty Blood Act Cadenza from /rs/.

It should come with a patch and something called mbcaster. Basically, you mount the image of Melty Blood you have on Daemon tools, install it, patch it, and then you use mbcaster to put IP addresses in and vs them.

It's quite simple really.

Stick happens to be more precise, and this game was designed for sticks too. But people are usually more used to pads for fightan etc so they use that. It's really a matter of preference, all up to you and what you find comfortable the most. Also, sticks are more expensive.
