Not the guy you quoted but I read the consensus a while back that if you tried to solve the mysteries, you would be highly dissatisfied with the ending. Whereas if you just casually read through it you'll enjoy it a lot more. These sentiments I agree with.

The whole problem with Umineko can be basically resumed in the only choice you're required to make at the end.

He did mention that, but from the look of it, I guess he dropped the idea already. At any rate he never said anything about what would "Umineko Rei" be. There's been all sort of rumors that it would be the explanations of everything, or the discarded "Land of the golden witch", but they're all baseless and quite unlikely.

At any rate a spin off of Umineko is already on the making in manga version, but it isn't written by Ryuukishi

It's called "Umineko no Naku Koro ni Shi: Forgery of the Purple Logic "
