How would a /jp/ meetup look like? I personally would never meet up with people I know from the net. I did once and it was awkward because we had no idea what to talk about. People in real life behave a lot differently than on the internet too.

I used to meet up with a group based on an anime and manga internet forum 10 years ago.

It was fun. Those were the only times when I was among people that appreciated me for what I was. I could talk with them about things that I really cared about.

Unfortunatley 10 years later they all "grew out" of anime and manga. They all got a job, while I became a NEET. The last time a met them, they didn't talk not even for a second about anime, manga or games, nothing. It was truly a saddening experience.

Now that forum is dead and they are all on facebook. Naturally I refuse to create an account, so I'm out of the loop, but frankly it's not like I'm "losing" anything at this point.

I could try to find another group like that one, but then I'd be like that man in OP's video, an old guy among kids, not thanks.
