But in real life, he was a cool guy. The documentary was great, though I think it gets too much credit compared to Civilisation and The Ascent of Man (BBC documentaries that both inspired it). We can support the theory with evidence. You can WATCH evolution in process in a lab. It's almost certainly a required element of any university biology or genetics class. This isn't guessing. This is watching the evolution of your bacteria happening in real time over the course of a few days.

The same facts of the situation are why there is not a real argument between "science and religion". Religion will not even admit there is a possibility of inaccuracy or sheer deception, while the study of evolution freely flaunts itself as a theory--it's just waiting for someone to prove a part of it wrong and help refine the theory.
