I watched the homuhomu movie today, went to the houston theater. Lots of normies, I think I was the only one that went alone. Some /a/nons were sitting next to me too.

Overall good movie, looking forward to the next one.

I watched it today too at the Los Angeles theater. I didn't know anything about these two movies. I was kind of disappointed to be honest though, because it's an IDENTICAL movie recap. Like, the same animation and/or key frames from the TV series and everything. It felt like I was watching all the BD episodes stitched together into one really long episode.

I still enjoyed it though because it's the same as the TV series and I liked that too. Even though it's far from being perfec, and rewatching it again reminded me of the things I didn't like before (Madoka flipping out during that "one" flashback scene, Kyouko killing herself for the fun of it, the anime entropy BS, Super Saiyan God Madoka, etc). But really, the third movie will have new content and that's what I wanted in the first place. Recaps can suck it.

As for the audience, I saw no evidence of normies or /a/nons. Just the usual anime nerds, neckbeards, squealing fanboys/girls, and cute cosplaying girls. But still I felt old in that crowd anyways, and I hope no one saw me crying during the sad scenes.

They redid lots of animation and did major changes to the backgrounds such as http://image.17173.com/bbs/v1/2012/09/30/1349013562846.jpg

The /a/non next to me saw me browsing /jp/ and he tried to talk to me but I didn't really say much. There weren't that many cosplayers here though, I only saw a QB cosplayer. The crowd was great though, except for the one part where this girl started crying.

>>9775338,13
The LA crowd was really lively, but it was still a cool crowd. Lots of American-style clapping (like when QB got shot up), fangirls squealing during the new OP, and people laughing (like when Homura appears in Madoka's window).

I didn't see any /a/nons or /jp/ers sadly. Though this night made me realize that I'm probably one of the most awkward people ever in existence. I was talking to my brother in line and I even saw the person in front of me texting "the two guys behind sound me like they just met and they're having the most awkward-sounding conversion ever".

Oh well. Also yeah the backgrounds were quite detailed, and I think their transformation scenes were redone too.

The crowd on Saturday was very lively as well. There were a couple of points at which it got a bit too lively for my tastes, but overall I really enjoyed the experience. I really like watching people genuinely enjoy something.

I would have liked to meet up, just because I had no idea where to eat after it ended.

I felt awkward too because it was my first time going to a theater. The two seats next to me before the movie was about to start were empty so that made me feel more awkward but then these two dudes came right when the movie started and that made me feel more comfortable.

The /a/non next to me was laughing at everyone clapping, I think he joked about americans too.

The transformation scenes were the best part of the movie, also when sayaka was fighting the witch, that was well done.

>>9775338,16
She was warning her about not meeting up with QB to make the wish. The scene made her look like a stalker which is why the audience laughed.

>>9775338,17
In houston, they served food during the movie. You would write down what you wanted from the menu on a piece of paper and put it up on a rail and the waiter person would come and take the paper back and bring you the good. I think that was nicely done but since they were walking while the movie was playing, it kinda got annoying since their heads got in the way and sometimes it ruined the atmosphere.

Yeah me too. Especially if what they're enjoying is anime/manga and such.

>>9775338,18
Last night was the first time I've been to the movies since the 90's. It made me pretty nervous in fact. I had to go piss like 3 times during that thing.

And wow that Houston movie theater sounds really nice. The one in LA was kinda shitty and only served bad hot dogs and popcorn. I ended up just drinking my bottled water from home and eating my Clif bars.

I think I'm glad we didn't get food during the movie, all that walking around would definitely have bothered me.

I was definitely panicking a little while in line, but I was OK once I got into the theatre. I go to theatres every now and then, but it doesn't make me nervous like this did.

We ate some takeout while standing in line, so we weren't hungry until after the movie. Ate at some place in little tokyo called Kouraku afterwards, because it was the first place we found that was still open.
