It's a spinoff, the main Senran Kagura sequels will still be 3DS.
The reason why Senran Kagura was even made was because of 3DS hardware, being able to receive boobs in 3D.

Senran Kagura 2 is also probably slated for 3DS if it's ever made.

XSEED showed interest in localization, right afterwards someone made a thread on the XSEED forums petitioning for Burst to get localized (since it has the previous game with enhanced gameplay in the same cartridge) which got like 314 pages from the time I last saw.

Marvelous also said a little while ago that they want to make yet another SK game on the 3DS, apparently getting ''serious'' now with it.

Going to Vita is fine, they never really used much of the 3DS anyways (limited 3D, touch screen was pretty pointless). And no gallery mode just for the clothes tearing scenes?

MH was with Sony until they fucked up their relationships with Capcom when Sony denied Capcom the rights to localize this guy because it didn't have their shitty ps3 trophy system. Capcom also complained to about the lack of a proper ad-hoc system or something.

That's not true at all,
Capcom wanted Sony to lower it's licensing fees for development on the PSP since Monster Hunter was such a system seller.

They were going to use the lower licensing fees to start a new focus of development using the lower cost of developing for portable systems vs home consoles.

Sony refused because, to be honest they've been hemorrhaging money for years, so they were against it. Then Capcom, deciding to be assholes announced it for the Wii to essentially remind Sony that Sony, needed Capcom far more than Capcom needed Sony.

When Monster Hunter Tri failed to meet sales expectations it proved that while it was a strong brand it wasn't the system mover that Capcom predicted it would be. Hence why they returned to Sony for Portable 3rd and HD.

The trophy support isn't a necessary factor because it's never been a requirement for any game on the PS3 that is not distributed through the PSN.

Capcom decided not to release it in the west because sales have always been lackluster, especially when compared to Japanese sales. Heck they had a major push in Britain with Freedom Unite 2 and it only matched US sales with minor advertisement.
