Bury it in some random location where I can always find it. Sure I could just sink it to the bottom of the Marianas trench or something but I'd like to be able to recover it so that I can take it with me in the event that the planet starts dying so I don't die with it. That is unless we don't invent space travel by then, then oh well.

It's a thing Liches' lock their souls into, I think. So when their physical form dies, their soul still remains in the phylactery (which can be any kind of object you chose, if I recall), and lets them reanimate at a later time.
