Probably the same way the rest of the world does. Hell, they make or contribute to most of the (good) comic hero cartoons. e.g. Batman: The Animated Series and Batman: Gotham Knight.

Superheroes are a lot like Magical Girls if you think about it.

The Avengers is getting some heat from the Japanese press for the use of "Hey Japan, this is a movie" as their tagline.

I'm now even more surprised they didn't make Captain America in the movies as much of a racist, sexist piece of shit he was in the Ultimate comics, they're obviously not above this kinda shit, and it would be madly popular with their primary audience.

I only watched Captain America: The First Avenger, but I hated what they did to him. He was more neutral and less about his country, as if they didn't want to risk alienating or offending people. He was a generic superhero rather than someone sticking up for truth, justice, and the American way.

Hollywood movies are very popular.
But Marvel heroes are not.
Superman can be the last hero that was popular in Japan. I think they are not popular because they are macho.
Oh, I remembered. Spiderman looks relatively popular.

Ironman? How can you say he's a hero? How many people were killed by his arms.
Captain America? What was that outfit in liveaction. It's ridiculous. I like Captain America in cartoon, though.

I want you to explain how. It isn't about race, it's about competition. They could have easily put "Marvel Comics" or something instead of "manga". I guess they're implying American comics are better, but that's not racist. German beer is better than American beer. And if you go any country, you'll find products bragging about themselves: "100% British beef", "All-American steak", "Grown in the heartland of France", etc.

They also made several manga about spiderman, and the japanese public most likely remember those rather than the comics.

The past couple decades made Captain America only really patriotic in the "freedom" part, so they could just as well use that.

The Ultimate version was the worst kind of sexist and racist scumbag the nerds today idolize.

But what the movie did was he made him... bland. He didn't have any character at all. His Avengers role developed him 10 times more than an entire movie about him could.
