As the people above said, it's just a matter of taste.

I can even pin mine down pretty well. I didn't have access to many cute things as a kid, and felt I had to act all mature and stuff. So coming back to cute things in my mid/late teens made me like little girls. Actually yes. My fav characters for a long time where always mature if not titty monsters. I'm not sure what suddenly changed that. Flandre maybe.
