Why is being secondary considered to be such a bad thing? I don't care about shmups, but I like Touhou music and fan art. Why do you have a problem with that?

Atleast read the official manga, sperglord.

>> No.9582524

Who cares? Just enjoy the music and fanart if it makes you happy. Don't think you have to conform to other people's idea of what makes you a "real" fan or something.

>> No.9582565

Because secondary assburgers tends to think fanon bullshit is canon.

>> No.9582564

It's not a bad thing at all. It's just that majority of secondaries like cool things only just because they're cool. Once people start disliking or hating Touhou, we'll lose large part of fanbase right away.

Because only assburgers actually play the shitty games or care about 2hu. The only good thing about it is some of the characters. The fact that we have a board dedicated to this crap is fucking pathetic. The only good thing about /jp/ is the NEET threads.

>> No.9582585

So long as you differentiate between canon and fanon, regardless of what side of the universe you prefer, I don't think anyone will have a legitimate problem with you.

>> No.9582618

>> No.9582661

It's not bad, I have a friend who is a secondary and cares alot about canon and the characers.
When you just like touhou for the pretty anime girls with blank slate personalities and disrespect canon while being a huge retard then you are bad.
And the truth is that most secondaries are like this.

I have seen primaries being retarded and secondaries being good posters on /jp/ though

You can like touhou for the fanon but please seperate canon and fanon from each other and realize that a gensokyo beyond all the flashy IOSYS video exists

>> No.9582840

Yeah, I play the shmups, but I don't really enjoy them very much, nor am I very good at them.

But I do enjoy the whole touhou aesthetic. Mythical things turned into little girls, the general innocence of it (I don't like the lewd side of things). It's just really interesting to me. I like playing games and enjoying other media that uses that aesthetic. Shmups just aren't my favorite.

A secondary isn't one who just spams lememeseksdee or one who enjoys the derivative works of Touhou, a secondary is one who changes aspects of the world, the characters, etc. which are already there and confirmed by ZUN and shits on them, insisting that his own interpretations are the canon ones.

In other words, secondaries are those obnoxious Black Tewifags who want their own Gensokyo because they're butthurt about the existing one. There is nothing wrong with interpreting something as you will when it's not specified enough or the creator doesn't care, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a deviation from the original, as long as you acknowledge that the original is still there. However, acting like you're on fanfiction.net, trying to establish your own bullshit as canon and getting on everyone's nerves is not cool.

It is pretty shitty, it is basically just Yukari "just as planned" for the whole manga.

A serious manga about some tryhard getting conned playing into a mastermind behind a scene just to steal sake.
The whole story is a letdown, the fight scenes with the moonbitches were terrible as well. I did not see any beautiful danmaku at all. NO THANK YOU.
I rather read about silly fairies doing silly things.

>> No.9583035

>>9583010
I hate the moonbitches as much as the next guy, but I don't think you understand what a "incident" in gensoukyou means. Just remember the reason why Remilia filled gensoukyou with red mist in the first place - just so she could walk in the day, among other incidents. Being silly is like, the whole point, in that sense the manga really is like the plot of a game without the game.

OP, have you ever read a visual novel and then discussed the subject with fans of the anime adaptation?

Secondaries are people who don't know what the work is about but pretend they do because they read or saw some distillation of it. If you ask a secondary of VNs, Higurashi is about 'killer lolis' and Okabe Rintarou is just a funny dude who says random stuff to be funny and drinks a lot of Dr. Pepper, el psy congroo ecks dee.

There is just something inherently offensive with someone discussing something you love as something it isn't.

Ive played th6 th8, the 12.3 fighting game, touhou sky arena, a small bit of th11. I listen to a lot of the music and like the artwork but not enough to care for the "official" manga or whatever. I dont give a fuck about categorizing myself as a certain fan type because Im not an autistic fuckwad who has little teenage complexes like what /jp/ thinks of me. stop getting upset over it op.

Primaries are the ones who delve in the game, the official works and other lore mentioned or published by ZUN.
Secondaries are the ones who don't play the games, and focus on secondary works which may disregard official lore, and disregard the lore themselves.
Tertiary is just an insult.
