I don't think you deserve it, but my love for this visual novel is greater than my repulse for you.
You should try playing Torta's route. But don't go complaining that this is boring. The MC is a little apathetic, lazy, and lives a calm life. If you don't like the setting then you should just read your type-moon shit. They have a lot more action for you.
It gets interesting when it reveals some things. There's actually a reason for the rain everyday! There's actually more about Phorni's existence! There's more to know about Tortinita and Arietta!

It's all about the atmosphere, like Narcissu, though it's not as heavy-handed. I thought it was really good and the music was cute.

People are going to tell you it gets great later on, in al fine and such. They might even tell you it's one of the best VNs of all time. I'll tell you don't be so quick to believe them. It has a few twists but they aren't any good. It also tries to jerk some tears, which is always a hit or miss thing in VNs so it may or may not work for you (it didn't for me since SR never got me to care enough about the characters or story, and I found the execution uninspired as well).

People like OP tend to think he's a special snowflake and his opinion deserves attention. In fact I think half of /jp/ revolves around proclaiming your hate for something generally deemed to be good by most /jp/ers and being proud of having such shit taste. You can just look at OP's argument for a nice example. Someone made him sit through 8 hours watching characters eat and practice. That sounds incredibly painful to me. Then I realized I didn't know what the hell he was talking about. He doesn't even try to make an argument that I can relate to. Kinda like people who say F/SN is about 30 hrs of Shirou's cooking. That works at some levels as a joke, but just factually indefensible and hopefully no one is so stupid that they actually believe it.
