You'd watch a girl lay in bed and eating unhealthy shit for a whole episode?
I've actually been thinking about this.
Why don't NEETs write books about their lifes as NEETs if they have so much free time?
But then I realized that it would be probally very boring

Because then it would be what we call a "blog".

Plus I have low self-worth. Why would people want to read about me? In a way I'm jealous of all the self-entitled Tumblr and Facebook attention whores who lead mundane lives, but have no problem broadcasting every facet of it to the world.

This is why you never include you writing the autobiography in the autobiography, since you end up with a hall of mirrors. You have to write about you writing the biography and then in the biography "I started to write in my biography that I was writing my biography, and then after this I wrote in my biography that I was writing in my biography about writing about my biography about my biography" and so on

>> No.9571206

I think autobiographies should come with supplementary, optional notes about you writing each part of the biography at that time.

I honestly feel that reading about the life of a NEET can be very interesting, depending on how the NEET views his life and chooses to convey it to the reader. That is, if he dislikes himself and his situation in life, I really don't think anything good will come from his writings. However, if the NEET genuinely enjoys his life and is interested by daily happenings in his life, it could be interesting to read. Does anyone understand what I mean?

If it was mostly NEET philosophy then it'd work.
Like the modern day issue of incredibly worker efficient food production- it produces huge areas where many people don't need to make food at all. A city of millions can survive with a few thousand people on the fields. Once you have efficiencies in productiona and amenities get high enough, what does the remainder not required for these things do?

I mean, if I was cynical about memes to the point where I had to type up passive-aggressive, ironic rants, I think 4chan would make me pretty bitter and upset.

Isn't that dangerous? Her everything is made out of snacks, which she constantly consumes. If anything, your body would start turning into sweets the moment you took the job and she'd slowly eat your innards as they are converted into various patisseries, until there's nothing left of you. And then she'd remark how delicious you were and start looking for another sidekick.

Unless you enjoy a little girl looking at you with primal hunger as one of your eyes pops from its place as a perfectly made, grape-flavored gobstopper or wish to watch her laze around idly licking a massive candy cane that used to be your arm, being her sidekick is not a very rewarding job.

That is cause it is fiction.
Girl like Misaki or a neighbor that is coincidentally a hardcore otaku just doesnt exist.
The best you could do, is to make a real life story of how 2NEET/hikkimori in /jp/ just decided to go out in the middle of the night to meet with each other to open a portal to gensokyo with a 3rd /jp/ trying to save them based on their /jp/ live update thread.

What I found unrealistic was his desire to stop being a NEET.
I don't know how right this is, but I would assume most people who have been NEETs for four years have learned to enjoy it at that point, or enjoyed it from the start.

Self-actualizing persons, etc. It made the point that he didn't make any real effort to break free of his NEET ways without outside intervention, and he regressed a few times. Hell, he basically had to because his allowance was cut.

Fact is, it was more interesting this way. If every line of dialogue was, "I'll do it tomorrow," and then he was happy to remain the same forever, it wouldn't be entertaining. The manga and anime adaptations had the MMO guy who you might be able to relate to more.

I'd imagine if you don't understand stuff about self-motivation or have no willpower you'd only sink further and further and further into depression. I know I wouldn't have come out okay if my NEEThood were 4 years with no sign of recovery rather than just a couple of months.

Also keep in mind that Satou's not just a NEET, more importantly he's a hikki, secluding himself because he's afraid of the outside world ridiculing him. Such a negative self-image would definitely get worse and lead to depression.

Yes, I was for a long time dumbass. And a shut-in for half a year too.
Most of the NEET are able to enjoy their life. That's not that dramatic.
Most of the hikkikomori are people who are driven to depression by society.
That's not that funny.

There's some truth in NHK. The problem is that it mix up that truth to make it "interesting".

It's a toss-up between privacy, freedom and no social interaction, and meals, laundry and less shopping.

Frankly I'd prefer the former, but baka Western gaijins don't have the same familial standards or sense of shame that glorious Nippon has.
