The anime is better than the VN because it has all the routes at once, and other than not have the sex scenes it's a very accurate conversion. Unless there's some bonus route after you've completed all 5 girls, it seems you can only get one at a time, so each good end is also 4 bad ends. This might be the case, as I've only completed Ayu's route so far.

To be frank I wasn't expecting to get so emotional with the game since I already know what's going to happen... but the combination of the BGM and the monologues defeated me. I admit I shed girly tears in this scene.

Even if you know the entire story of the game the execution of the anime series is pretty fast and doesn't give you much time to ponder over the facts. It's just 26 episodes for a game that takes days to finish. If you have enough time to spare check it out, it's worth it.
