GGs.

I can see how my v.akiha could be... frustrating to fight.

Her only disadvantage is her low HP and if you dont have your combo/rushdown game on point then its a hard matchup.

Work on learning a BNB (shouldn't be too hard for nanaya, he has simple combos for the most part.)

Then you will be able to capitalize on random hits much more.

Also dont rely too much on nanayas teleport mixups, they are much more efficient at high level than they are against someone who knows how to counter it properly (however I do not..)

his air 22 fastfall is useful for mixup too, so dont forget to make use of all his tools.

Last thing you should work on (to help your pressure game when you get me blocking) is reverse beats.

C-Kouma 623A is active on the 9th frame and air-unblockable. It's also 1-hit so you get to scoop up the counterhit. Much higher hitbox than F and especially H for anti-air purposes.
623B is also air-unblockable.
C-kouma's fancy 6C gives you a combo when traded with air normals even on double counterhit.
j.214B is just awesome. j.214A is supposedly unsafe but you can hold shield when you land and input 214A.

If you end air combos with j.236B and skip the followup you can just land and dare them to tech and try to get to the ground. If they tech they're gonna have a bad time- 623B lines up to where they'll be and will hit once most of the time so you get a full CH combo.

Hope this helps!

and 2A 2B 5BB 5C 2C 5A 236A x 5A 236A 236B j.CB dj.BC works for everyone else.
Counterhits/raw air throws can be picked up with 5A 5C j.CB dj.BC or some such.
2A 2A 5CD for wakeup DP OS little starter.
2AAAA 2C 5B 2B would be the most basic blockstring otherwise, etc.

It is the easiest way to write fighting game motions and combos, it just looks confusing at the beginning.

basically, look your numpad and use that for the numbers.

The number corresponds with direction.

The A/B/C are used for attacks. A for light, B for medium, C for hard.

I think your playing was a little behind the last time I fought you. You weren't exactly patient enough (getting caught by my rekka, mashing my 5B which is a frame trap -> 2A). I found myself trying to get you to respect me more so that I could run my better blockstrings. I didn't really get to play F-Nanaya optimally either, we were in neutral most of the games.

But it could just be netplay amping up the difficulty to deal with it.

>I don't think full moon is easy mode at all, especially since you have to try harder to be less predictable.
Full moon is specifically designed to be simple mode.
C-Ryze/F-Roa are fisher price my first characters.
It's completely intentional from FB's end.

I think you mean "try less to be more unpredictable"- the style has a whiff cancel built into the frame advantage of everything (also generally better hitboxes) for the benefit of beginners. You get easier and better redashes/IADs/tick throws/frame traps in general due to that.
f-moon staple 2A walk 2A walk 2A with throws and specials mixed in is not exactly difficult to do by any stretch or predictable. Simple things for simple moon.

I did my time playing full moon until current code. I'll agree it's very difficult to play, but only because just thinking about playing full moon makes me nearly fall asleep at this point and you might miss a DP if your eyes are closed.

Well I can see where you're coming from. I most certainly agree that they are easier to pick up and use. However, I disagree that they stay easy the more competent your opponent is.
I mean taking F-Roa from your example, yeah he's simple to play, but he's the worst of the Roa moons in that he just has no tools/comparatively lack luster tools to deal with shit. The amount of work it takes to get your opponent to respect you enough so that you can run your 236AB gimmicks just isn't dismissible.
As for the F-Moon staple, its funny because yes, you do know they're going to try it. To note you never gave me room to do it, and when I do run it on others I've been stuffed countless times, shield OS, bunkered, reversal'd, etc.

It just seems to me that you're more focused on the execution aspect of things is all.

Yeah I don't play V.Akiha unless I'm fighting someone who isn't really capable of combos.

Getting 75% combo'd by a competent player doesn't feel good. Luckily I didn't have to deal with that tonight.

Just some tips, when you have me in the corner it is almost never a good decision to try to cross me up and put yourself in the corner, unless its off an actual ambiguous setup.

And mix your block strings up more, you are playing h-moon, you can do more than ABC strings into a special and repeat, that seems to be one of your complaints about f-moon rushdown so maybe you should actually listen to some stuff you type out.

Not really an option because of pushback nor is it necessary.
The timing of normals so it all frametraps is possible, but i'm having 5A whiff point blank and eating shit because the timing is off somewhere very slightly. At what point it's off I don't know. Just need to grind more.

Well I just noticed that at one point you jumped over me and put yourself in the corner, just try and avoid stuff like that unless you have a plan that you are almost positive will work.

Similar case for pressing buttons at random times, but that might be what you were talking about in the first part of your post.

Against arc-earth, you really need to put thought into every button press, because if you are just pressing buttons at half a screen away because you do it against other characters and dont get punished for it, it wont work against arc-earth.

If you just don't press many buttons against her and wait for an opening there isn't much she can do.

ggs. You should only really use j.214c if it'll add enough damage to end the round. Her meter is much better used on [j.]236c for pressure and 214c for wakeup.

Usually my 236c pressure results in nothing, so I've gotten in the habit of using j.214c for guaranteed damage. You're right, though, I should probably stop doing that unless I'm in max and learn how to pressure better instead.

>> No.9557569

>>9557530
I think working 214c into your game is a lot more important. Other than 623c, it's her only other wakeup option with invincibility frames and 623c is horribly punishable on block anyway. With 214c, you can usually combo if it hits and reverse pressure if they blocked it. You can get thrown out of it but it's still much better than 623c. 236c has no invincibility.
As FWLen, if you have no meter, you should generally always block on wakeup. Outside the corner, I guess backdashing could be okay sometimes too.

So, I've played this a few times before, but I really want to start learning and bettering myself at this.

I wanted to put my time into learning Aoko, but I've heard that she's not very friendly to new players, so I was wondering what some good characters to get accustomed to the game were.

Also, are there any good resources for some basic BnBs for each character?

Please and thank you.

>> No.9559377

>>9559282
H and F-Aoko are easy to learn, even for beginners. C-Aoko isn't, don't touch her until you're familiar with the basics of the game.
I'd say, pick a character whose design / moveset you like, see what the easiest moon is, and start from there. There aren't any character which requires a lot of execution skills in all 3 moons, except maybe Kouma or P-Ciel if you want to do the advanced combos.

It's not that I don't understand the notation, but when I get something like

>421a 236[a] 2c 421a sj9 j.b j.c dj j.b j.c AT/j63214c/j236c/j236a

my eyes glaze over.

It's like somebody handed me a tuba and a music sheet and told me to "blow".

Actually, it's worse, because with music, if you know your instrument you can at least play it by ear. Watching Meltan videos tells me nothing because the moves are entirely divorced from the movement. And who records their stick movements?

>> No.9560093

>>9559644
Then maybe you can think of the movement of the characters as the output "sound" of a musical instrument where instead of hearing it you are seeing it. Its just a matter of actually learning your character's movesets in the same way that you learn what sound your musical instrument makes.

>> No.9560134

>>9559644
After you play enough it just comes naturally and you can name off the moves and notation from just looking at it since you're so used to your characters moves.
