don't listen to these faggots telling you to invest your own money.

You need at least $100,000 or so to make a profit (due to the fact you need to pay transaction fees when you buy / sell a position)

even then its a crap shoot, small day traders are getting pushed out of the market because you cannot take it easy and the markets are constantly manipulated by either hedgefunds / banks or the government outright.

73% of ALL us equity volume is done by a very small percentage of massive HFT'ers. It's a scam, stay out.

save more money.

There is no such thing as a free lunch and if you expect to grow your money 100 times over you are insane.

you would be a pro at 3-9% a year... and even after more than a decade you will have barely doubled your money ... this doesn't include inflation, taxes, markets being rigged, etc and the average person being a fucking loser in the pyramid scheme.

Don't be an idiot... put it in something secure or well hedged and let someone who has more capital manage it for you so you mitigate as much risk as possible. Most Equity right now is probably 50% OVER valued due to govenrment manipulation (QE1,2, operation twist, low interest rates)

I am completely risk adverse and am currently in fixed income because I understand its a fucking scam that needs to end soon.

North America will have its pops and depression but the real growth is in BRIC countries which are ALSO highly speculative, in bad economic/demographic shape and have even worse fraud then North America.

There are no safe heavens so sit in something relatively stable and hope you don't get reemed on inflation.

tl;dr run...run and don't look back.

>> No.9508225

Isn't it very unwise to start trading stocks if you're an average NEET?

Firstly, you need something to start with.
Secondly, you should expect to lose quite a bit of dosh before, and even if, you get the hang of it. After all, you'd be competing with other people who've been at it for years. And, chances are, who have access to many more resources - specialized education, work experience in related fields, personal connections.
Thirdly, even if you consider all factors, it's just a giant lottery. Gambling. Probably fairer than in a casino, but it's still heavily based on luck. Some gamblers get rich. That doesn't mean that it's a stable source of income.

Not to stomp on anyone's ambitions. But I'd just hate to see anyone as vulnerable as the average person here is, fail and get into [even more?] debt.

The stock market is perfectly reasonable as long as you don't go in with the goal of making huge profits in short amounts of time. Therefore, it's probably not what most of you are looking for. If you already have a lot of money saved up, then investing in stocks (and maybe some bonds, if you so choose) is the best way to build wealth over the long term.

Keyword is long term, meaning 15+ years, usually much longer. Therefore, it's probably not what you're looking for, and if you don't already have a source of income, you should not be investing much money. Your survival comes first.

I would stay away from things like forex, binary options, day trading, and the like. They are incredibly risky, and if you don't even have experience with the slow and reasonably safe stocks, you don't have much of a chance.

>I believe the biggest thing out there is emerging markets, right? But how would I "discover" them?

I know that the stock market is about long term profits, but now and then, there are some things that skyrocket. Isn't there a way to stay on par of these things and analyse when they appear?

For example, let's say tomorrow a company that has some revolutionary product becomes selling stocks for an extremely low value, since nobody know about it yet.

Then after a year, it becomes very famous and everybody is buying from this company, so their stocks now are 7 times more expensive.

So, if I had bought if on the start and sold after 1 year, I would have a 700% profit, right?
But how would someone "discover" these emerging opportunities?

P.S.: Was these kind of things that ``InvestmentBanker'' did?

The issue here is that there are gigantic teams of people with MBAs working sixty hour days to try and find the opportunities before you do. Not that you can't compete because big businesses dislike a certain risk threshold and you can just chase returns, but, well, there it is.

Well, i'm up to some risk.
I need $0 and I want at least $1 million. Anything between is useless. And the monthly costs I have to live are paid already. My investment money is independent.
I think I will just stay checking on new companies on a daily basis. If I reduce my /jp/ time from 8 to 6 hours, I will have 2 whole hours to check on opportunities every day! I may come across something, eventually.

I don't know, I only visit /jp/

Why the hell do you need $1 million?

>> No.9508584

But your autismbux in bonds. They are set and forget and give better rates than a savings account. You are only fucked if the business files for bankruptcy and their liquidation can't pay you back and then your stuck with stock to a shit company. So get bonds with an established business.

If I really want to do all I want, I would need at least that. For example, they started building some really nice robots lately. Kurata, or something. They are very shitty, but in some years, I will really want one! Also, I want to give some people money, because I like their work. And also, I wanted a 2hu anime that covered at least all games already launched. I would also desire to have a parallel 2hu anime, but very lewd. As I want it to be very well done, I would need quite some money.
Those are just some things I have in mind, you see? I have some other desires as well...

But I don't need any of this, so, having $0 is not a problem. But having, let's say, $400000 is useless, as I can't do anything with it

That sounds good. I've heard about Government bonds once. But it seems to be not too profitable. I mean, it looks better than stocks, but still far from becoming rich.

2D characters wouldn't like you if they were real.
You will fail at whatever you try in the future and kill yourself while crying in a corner.

What? I don't care about 2D characters ``liking'' me, I just want to be entertained. And why did you even get that idea from? Also, supposing things like that without basis is quite silly. And why do you say I will fail whatever I try? I don't understand your post at all...
Are you sure you wanted to quote me?
