9460608 No.9460608[DELETED]  [Reply] [Original]

On feb 20, 2008, this board was created.

On feb 20, 2009, we reached around 2000000 posts.

On feb 20, 2010, we reached around 4000000 posts.

On feb 20, 2011, we reached around 7000000 posts.

On feb 20, 2012, we reached around 8500000.

What happened between 2011 and 2012? I know that people complain about /jp/ getting more activity but this isn't the case according to the numbers. Is everybody leaving? What the fuck is going? I am getting depressed.

Who cares? /jp/ started off as trash and just got more shitty. Has nothing to do with number of posters.

Mods are cracking down on certain theads which would normally get a lot of posts.

There's probably just less to talk about too, especially when VN threads were welcome at that time in /v/ and /a/.

Finally, shitposting has reached a level which has probably led to some people giving up on the board.

It's fixed in 4chan expansions.

>-less tripfag circlejerking (because most of them left)

They left because they were actual 4chan newfags and didn't understand the scrutiny that comes with having an identity on an anonymous board.

Some people still don't realize this.

>> No.9461598,3 [INTERNAL]

>>9461598,2
There are dozens of tripfags that left, most of whom didn't receive that much attention. They didn't leave because they were scrutinized to death, they left because they decided /jp/ had become shit.

Just look at the list of tripfags. Not even a tenth of them were harassed out of /jp/.

10500000 in feb 2013 btw. making it 2.10^6 posts.

We're october, so 2/3rd in and around 11500000
So, asuming it's fairly linear, unless we see another 10^6 posts in 4 months (twice the ammount of right now) the balance will be another decline, comparable to the 2011->2012 in magnitude.

What this roughly says, is that /jp/ a shit. It shows that new users aren't here to stay, and old user are leaving.
Now, as to why old user are leaving, I'll leave that to your judgment.

>Just look at the list of tripfags. Not even a tenth of them were harassed out of /jp/.

You are literally operating at a wrongfully unliteral level. The scrutiny that comes with being a tripfag means a lot more than what can be viewed as someone being directly "harassed out of /jp/." The point is that these people were insecure introverts who over time realized tripping only resulted in their singling out -- and being forced into a certain persona.

That or they grew up.
