I'd like to throw in a recommendation for Nickelodeon [Red] by Dowman. An excellent collection of short stories.

I've always loved how Dowman mixed cute and macabre in his stories and, while he's not exactly Ibsen, they're often cleverly layered and well written. The art style really complements the sort of deranged narrative. There's not many people who are able to say so much with only four pages of comics. I'm glad that this one crazy guy decided to translate most of his entire corpus, so that English speakers could enjoy his manga too. He's definitely a very under-appreciated artist.

The only thing bad about Dowman is his tendency to do, like, one million series at the same time. Expect Voynich volume 2 sometime in 2015.

The only reason why you think it is dying is because all the offtopic threads, which are of course fault of the moderation, if he wasn't an enabler this won't have ever happen.

The only reason to browse 4chan is because there is not a better alternative, eventually a new and better place will be created and people won't have a reason to stay on 4chan, why would they?, when moot can't do something as simple as moderation.

Fuck it, yes. Don't know if you've noticed, but we're already too far gone. Moderation has left us to rot (mostly) and can't do anything with the vague set of rules moot gave us because he doesn't care.
We need more good threads, not less. Just going more and more specific is not going to salvage the board from the 75% shitposter threads at all times.

So the only possible response, the only way we can still have some good times outside of the shitposters, besides the isolated general threads, is to accept the fact that anything can go in here and just make decent threads about that. We have no good content most of the year until Reitaisai and Comiket come around, so yes, let's go random but still related to the idea of the board and with a semblance of quality. Keep anime and manga (specially since /a/ took back figs and some VN) while reporting the shitty spam.

Deleting for shitty thread, but please remember that we still have a shot. /jp/ doesn't have to be 10 deleted pages

It's not /jp/-related. However, every now and then /jp/ discusses off-topic things and everyone is fine with it unless it becomes a regular occurrence. Sometimes these threads suddenly disappear and everyone is fine with that, too.
