I don't think so. MLP and Homestuck are already preferred by a lot of people. Quite a few franchises are also as popular as Touhou already. I doubt it will happen. Not only that, the western fandom seems to be more about consumership than anything, it also doesn't have the infrastructure nor the effort required to make it grow.
