I've been watching Hagure, has anyone else been getting a real Daibanchou vibe from this? Obviously the plots have little in common, but the general atmosphere and the characters seem similar for whatever reason, especially this guy.

I can't help but feel like this is the closest to a BBA anime we're gonna get.

Someone on 4-ch recommended me this cartoon called Angel's Egg. It was "art" and exactly the sort of thing Colony Drop/Something Awful hipsters like. It was poorly received and did bad financially, and now only the aforementioned ANIME DIED IN THE 90s ;___; losers like it.
Meanwhile, excellent shows like YuruYuri and other "so-called moe" and "pedophile-pandering" "shit" are doing great, receiving millions of viewers and winning awards.

We are in the golden age of anime. And this isn't supposed to be sarcastic or anything, I'm truly glad to be an otaku in this generation.

Not at all. It airs late night and is created by the guy that created Nanoha and Wanko to Kurasao.

It's aimed at adults that don't want to watch a pretentious deep anime and who love kemonomimis.

It's pretty much the best kemonomimi anime that has ever been released.

Anyone who writes it off as being a kids show or a furry show either have not looked much into it, or just plain have never watched it.

I watched one or two episodes of the first season when it aired, and I assumed it was one of those shows aimed at young teenage boys. I know caring about age demographics is dumb, but I got the impression it was aimed at kids in a bad way. But if it's aimed at adults who are the kind of people who like shows aimed at kids, I can respect that. We need more shows like that.

And if people genuinely think it's furry, they're dumb.

Are you serious? We are talking about an anime that is MAINLY about animalpeople, like 90 percent of all of the characters are kemonomimis.

An anime about animal-people does not include an anime that has like ONE character with catears and she hardly gets any screentime.

Asobi no Iku Yo was the last one I can remember that was actually mainly about animal people. Kirimizoo also had animal people but it was a little kids show and the girls had to TRANSFORM into their animal forms.

Dog Days was built from the ground-up with kemonomimi fans in mind, and doesn't just have a token tacked-on catgirl.
