Railgun is not a light novel. It is a manga spinoff of Majutsu. A very popular and successful one that greatly eclipses Majutsu, which is the light novel you are referring to.
Manga threads belong on /a/, not /jp/

What you people have...latched on to is something that has no foundation and really only serves as a stepping stone for drama. In all honesty, and this is getting really tin-hat conspiracy here, but in all honesty I would not be any bit surprised to find out that these saten threads have been deleted by the OP for the sole purpose of fueling drama.

Try making a Saten thread/post yourself and see what happens. While there are some users making a mockery of his habits now by deleting their own Saten posts, the janitor does actually hunt down Saten images, even when they are posted in threads that should be deleted altogether (like, say, this one). And this is nothing new, by the way. He has done this for as long as I can remember.

Naruto, Light Yagami, Ash Ketchum, and Mickey Mouse have all been in light/visual novels. You would not bat an eyelid if a thread dedicated to one of these characters was deleted.

Couple that with the fact that Saten was a shitposting macro used by spammers to frequently flood pages of the board at a time, and you have one controversial lady on your hands.

If you want to discuss her, great! Just take it to /a/ or /c/. /c/ in particular is a nice board, and it's pretty much dedicated to anime/manga character discussion.

This was never, ever true. There have been lots of Saten threads, but they are always posted one at a time, a couple of times per day at most. I have been posting on /jp/ since the split, and I know this for a fact.

I've tried, but they get deleted. And no, they were not created in the middle of a "Saten shitstorm," as if that were some sort of valid excuse to delete a perfectly on-topic thread.

There is a nice thread going on right now with a good number of participants having a genuine discussion and trading images. And no, just because people are talking about something you don't like, does not make it trolling. I don't like Touhou, but guess what? I ignore the threads! Even though they are spammed constantly and take up at least half the board and could in reality be condensed into one page!

Lots of reasons. /jp/ is the light novel board. /a/ doesn't like Saten and /jp/ is the catch-all for things /a/ doesn't want. There is a large community of Saten and Raildex fans here. The same exact reasons people make threads about any other character.

Idolmaster is an almost-galge-waifu-simulator. And those threads usually cover every character.
Type Moon/R07 don't get image dump threads, those only get speculation/drama/powerlevel shit threads.

The point is, you don't make a waifu thread for every secondary character of every spin-off LN you like. There are better places for this. It's just common sense.

If one day I have something Raildex related to discuss, I assure you, my thread won't get deleted, because I know how to make a legit thread. One thing is sure, the shitposting squad will definitely use the occasion to spam their waifus and anime screencaps in it.
