I come from /g/ and all our incessant battlestation threads and was surprised having to dig through 6 pages to find this. Anyway, I'm thinking of turning one of the rooms in my house into a washitsu that can be adapted to serve many purposes. Perhaps a kotatsu in the winter, or I can divide it into multiple bedroorooms with futons using shojis if I have a lot of guests. Looking for inspiration, so please carry on.

The only real life anime fan that I have ever seen with a room like that was living in his mother's house collecting disability.

He was morbidly obese, and was collecting money from Social Security.

A lot of the online pictures from "NEETS" are actually 2chan pictures taken from programmers and other otakus with decent incomes.

Yeah, I've browsed some online weeaboo stores, the tatami, futons, shoji, etc. is ridiculously expensive. Seems an almost an order of magnitude cheaper in Japan, but having the stuff shipped to Europe is nontrivial.

The red one is a simple Ikea lamp that was on sale once. Then I rigged my shelves with some LED lights and set them to blue. Plus my ceiling lamp has extra LEDs you can use with the normal light or on their own.

It's really hard to capture in a picture, but it's a nice mood in the night.
