I went to school in upstate NY until I was 16 and then in NC through college. Never once did I have to use "English" system unless it was converting it to metric. I honestly couldn't even tell you how many feet are in a mile without looking it up.

Precise temperature measurements are only needed in science and only just barely cooking if it is a complex recipe. (most things are just HOT AS FUCK, COOL AS FUCK and TURN THAT THING HALF WAY AROUND)

Celsius works better with the rest of everything since that is what the entire system was built upon.

All Fahrenheit done was separate freezing and boiling by 180 degrees so it can divide neatly. (just like the same argument with inches and feet)
