Of the vinyl ones here are the key differences between brands:

Azone has painted eyes
Azone has rooted hair and wigs. A majority are rooted (Lilia, Kuroneko) some have wigs (Fate.)
Azone outsource bodies from Obitsu plastic manufacturing.
Azone releases their dolls (in limited quantity) through retail channels.

Volks has plastic eyes that can be interchanged.
Volks all have wigs.
Volks provide their own bodies in-house.
Volks mostly offer their dolls through special events and lotto.

hey, i follow that person on flickr. while that may be a case of oversharing, i actually liked several of the shots. if they had not 'overshared' maybe i wouldn't have seen the ones they didn't pick.

personally, i think it's up to the photographer to decide if they want to let the viewer decide which pictures are best. that's a conscious decision, though.

It's preference and opinion but to me less is more. You shouldn't be burdened with having to find the good ones, and you certainly don't need to sort through their discards. It's their job to impress you, not bore or sicken you. If you look at the sites or flickrs of Azure, Kutsoneko, Hololo, TomDoll, dwarf_foto, and suzuhico to name a few, their submissions always impress, and almost never repeat themselves unuecessarily.

They are awesome.
