Yes, I recognize anonymous posters by the posting style, tone, language, use of grammar, images, image file names, and which threads they frequent.

Tone is actually the most important thing. I can also sometimes tell when anonymous posters are trying to hide and post out of their usual character in an attempt to avoid detection.

I never draw attention to them unless I am being provoked.

Samefagging put me on the trail but I credit Sion for really turning me on to it. When he started mainly posting anonymously I would see other people call him out and wonder, "How the fuck did they know that?" Then I realized Sion's taste in women and everything became much clearer.

After that I started analyzing all the above-referenced criteria and, although it's not a perfect science, I have gotten pretty good at it.

I wrote a script to rename my Touhou images in a standard fashion, so I'm probably pretty easy to spot when I post Touhou images.

I regularly alternate between American and British English, as well as between various levels of proper use of capitalization.

My sentence structure and use of punctuation marks and styles of quotes are a lot harder to notably alter though.

The thought of people recognizing me is unsettling. And I know that people can. It's even easier on /jp/ than at most places.

I can recognize almost all of the regular /jp/ posters who have names, and a few Anons who aren't well known enough to have names too. Although, with the Anons, it's hard because sometimes you never know if someone is just copying some phrase or idiosyncrasy that they saw on /jp/ earlier. The same thing goes for filenames; a lot of time I see images with clever names, so I save them with those names, and other times I'll come up with my own original image name and end up seeing the image reposted with the same name on a later date.

I do sometimes change my posting style on purpose, or copy my images and give them random names before posting them in order to avoid letting people link my posts together when I want to be truly Anonymous. Most of the time I don't really care though. I'd be curious to know if my posting style (especially when making long posts like this one) is obvious enough to have drawn anyone's attention.

I post a lot, and often make long posts on certain subjects that come up over and over again, so I wouldn't be surprised if some people who post in those threads can probably recognize my posting style by now. I do wonder if I have any quirks or patterns in my writing that have allowed people to link my posts in different types of threads together though.
