/jp/ is mostly for Dollfie Dream and the like, general BJDs would probably go to /toy/. but i've visited a few times and they weren't very active.

It would be sort of like asking figmas to move to /toy/ just because they have joints just like Marvel and DC action figures.

There's no rule or anything like that, it's just where people ended up spending their time. You can talk about both kinds of dolls in either board, but you'll get more interest in different places.

the otaku community kinda overlaps with the BJD one. it's otaku related in a smiliar fashion that idols are. you could argue that they belong here. it's a different thing if mods accept them though.

figmas already are in /toy/ though. they are cross-board material. just like BJDs. that stuff doesn't really belong anywhere, and ends up being discussed at diffrent boards.

This. We have a "doll thread" and /toy/ has a "BJD thread." OP will get better responses starting threads in /toy/ instead of trying to shove it down our throats.
