And the way she's resting the violin lower on her collar bone indicates she's not playing at all but posing for a shot.

Your image is not any better of an example. Why is she holding the violin straight out like a new student before their first lesson and don't get me started on how and why she's holding the bow like THAT. Do us a favor and check your facts before you fail miserably and veer off topic without using sage.

That's really cool. I'm thinking of attending a hobby shop here on post so I can possibly learn crafts to help me make stuff for my dolls. I bet it's much cheaper and more rewarding to make the stuff yourself.

It is pretty fun to make stuff yourself. Plus, you get exactly what you want. I came up with the idea of a garden photoshoot, and worked on the props I wanted. I want to learn to sew, and I've taken small lessons when I visit home (my mom is a wonderful seamstress). An outfit would be a huge project, but I could probably do placemats for the table.

I'm considering making a bed frame as my next big project. I think it might be interesting to use for a photoshoot.

A question for everyone: how often do you change the pose of your girls? Where do you get ideas for new poses? How about changing clothes?

For me, I change the pose anywhere from about once a week to once a month. I don't have any source for ideas for poses. And I change clothes anywhere from every few weeks to about two months.

>A question for everyone: how often do you change the pose of your girls? Where do you get ideas for new poses? How about changing clothes?

I don't really count, but I probably change their poses a few times a week sometimes simply as a result of moving them around. Ideas for poses? They're not often contrived, unless specific props are involved. Since I'm partial to the head-and-shoulders portrait I don't put a lot of thought into posing except capturing their smiles and now that I have a Saber, lack thereof.

I don't change their poses very often... About a few times a month? I'll have a photoshoot ever several months or when I get new clothes, it's not like I can take them anywhere besides my room.
Ideas for poses? I just put them in poses that I think suit that particular girl. It just kind of pops into my head, I'll sometimes imitate the pose to make sure it's feasible and not retarded, then I try to put them in it. Some of my girls, like my SD-16s I see as being more mature and sexy or elegant so I'll imagine their poses being more like that. My MDDs on the other hand are more cutesy and playful and so they needn't be so perfect or poised.
How often do I change their clothes? Well I haven't had all my girls or their accessories in several years (military), but before I joined I would change my little MDD's clothes about once, twice a month or every other month. I just depends upon my mood I guess.

Its Azone's Chisa. I think she's pretty cute. Anyone have any shots of her? I already have some future dolls in mind, but I suppose I should start with getting clothes for her. I'm also curious about how doll hair works, exactly.

I surely do have my little Chisa-chan. Matter of fact, I have the one from the picture in >>9261054. She's a Chisa ~My First Diary~, with the original Obitsu body, before Azone switched to PureNeemo bodies. I got her second hand as well, from someone here on /jp/.

She's a bit tough to get clothes for due to her small size. I had the best luck at the Azone store in Akihabara, but you can find plenty of clothes online if you're dilligent.

She's my first girl, and I love her so much. Have a recent picture. She's all in pink, because I haven't tried the outfit before. I'll probably put her back in her default outfit again soon. I think it suits her best.

It might depend on what size your girl is. I only have Dollfies but with them you shouldn't have to with most clothes. Most of the outfits that I've come across just slip on from the feet (like a dress) and then button or zip up top, or works like a button up shirt and you just slip over the arms. If you're working with something like a knit sweater or pullover shirt you might have to I suppose...

I've never needed to remove a doll's head to change clothes. I have a few slip-on T-shirts (no velcro or snaps on the back) which are a bit of work to put on, but not difficult. Taking of my DD's arms makes it a little easier, but I can get by without doing so. I prefer not to take off their arms. I've never had to take off Chisa's head nor any part of her body to change clothes.

>>9261723
That Chisa has a PN Flection XS body. I bought one when they were released, and swapped bodies (versus her original Obitsu body) for a little while. The flection body is more aesthetically pleasing, but I found the posing to be limited compared to the obitsu. I also managed to break both an ankle and a wrist joint within about 5 minutes of each other. That could be due to the small size of the XS body, or due to climate, or due to manufacturing issues. The XS body I got was from their very first production batch. Don't stress out about it, though!

Also, forgot to ask, what is the most important thing to look for when clothes shopping? I checked Chisa's size on MFC, and I was looking at some clothes on amiami, but I notice that some are simply labelled small, medium and large, while others have more detailed sizing info on them. I can tell there will probably be some trial and error if I shop there..

most dolls are flection S (koron, aika etc.)
some are flection XS (Chisa, Nanoha)
and a couple are flection M (Mia, Sahra)
http://www.azone-int.jp/index.php?sid=pnm000

There's a 'sort of' sizing chart. seen on lots of clothes listings like on http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10190570 basically if's it's not XS it may run large.

>> No.9272611

Hobby Search has a pretty good section for PNXS clothes. Everything I've bought from there has fit just fine. I'd expect that most clothes sized for PNS will fit, though some outfits might be a bit baggy.

For me, the most important things when choosing outfits are finding things that I like, and finding things that are versatile. I like outfits that can be combined to make a few different outfits. It helps keep the storage space for doll clothes manageable.

I look forward to seeing pictures of your Chisa-chan!
